This was by far one of my favorite matches to watch. It had everything you could ask for, great safety play, kicking, running racks, and the best Hill Hill. The thing that is most important, but seems to be missing in todays matches is the absense of statistics.....I enjoyed when Pat Fleming applied the TPA to the pro events. It allowed you to look at a players weak or strong points in that very match .In this match it is easy to forget just how close of a match it was, just look at the stats.. by just 2 percentage points. It doesnt get much closer than this, Bring back the TPA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeDEFlnguDY&feature=player_embedded

I agree, I enjoyed how he broke the game down into stats. It made you realize how important certain aspects of the game were.

That match with Steve and CJ was a lesson in and of itself. I wish it would have been a race to 50 just so we could see if it would still be close after that many games. I could have watched those two play for hours and hours.

That match should not be on YouTube, it's owned by AccuStats, too many people put up their matches on YouTube without their permission. While many companies (Inside Pool, BClub, some others) do put up their own videos on YouTube, I don't think I have ever seen a legal AccuStats upload.

As a funny aside to this, I just sent CJ this match and a few others I had of him, he said it was the first pro tournament he played in the US.

Good luck finding this match for sale on their site.... I'll gladly order it for my collection if you stumble across it.... tx

CJ shot some big numbers in that tourney.....I heard buddy say when cj played varner , CJ had shot a .929 only missed 1 shot the entire match and won 11-5 or 11-6 very impressive

Take notice how often he uses a TOI.........there will be a quiz later :)

You may be able to get a copy from CJ directly.

I don't think he has one, I sent him a copy though along with the few others I had of him. He wanted him vs Archer and when I said that I also had the Miz one he said "it's on YouTube", which sounds like he did not actually have the video from AccuStats.

App. 31% of the shots. CJ has stated it was around 80%+. Easy to tell if you know how the balls actually react. I have gone through that video shot by shot. Have you?

I wonder how long it takes for anyone, anywhere on AZB to post the name "CJ Wiley" before his stalkers show up crying and fussing with their panties in a bunch.

Unlike you, I don't stalk anyone. Why is it that anyone that doesn't swallow every single word CJ says is a stalker. And, just who, besides you that is, has their panties in a bunch? You are usually the first one crying and stalking anytime someone says anything in less than a holy light about CJ.

Instead of doing your crying on here, why don't YOU take a close look at that video, and see for yourself? (that is, if you even know what to look for)

Thanks again for that by the way, Johnny Archer and I had some epic matches back in those days.

I do have the Steve Mizerak match on DVD, which was copied from a VHS tape. It's interesting to hear Billy and Buddy talk about how I was playing because it wasn't "typical". Buddy and I have talked about the Touch Of Inside and he liked my system of hitting the Inside of the cue ball. He was certainly a master of hitting the same "shot speed" most of the time.

My two thoughts were "cue it inside and accelerate"....this is how I was able to hit every shot like they were the same shot. "There's no hard shots, or easy shots, they're all just shots."

That is the one thing that I though would be interesting to do, listen to the commentators about a match one played in. I played ONCE on a streaming table on the Joss tour in Snookers, but I don't think there were any commentators there and it was not recorded, so I think I missed my one chance LOL.

the "Golden Age of Pool".

Yeah, Buddy Hall is one of my all time favorites, and Billy too. Dave Bowman didn't have a clue who I was, but Buddy and Billy did....they are just from the "old school" and don't believe in knocking gambling players.

Buddy and I used to practice in Tampa Florida and he would get frustrated with my "free wheeling style". When he muscled up and played hard he would beat me, but playing for "fun" I was extremely difficult to keep up with.

I had a lot of fun around the old school players through the years. There was nothing better than hanging out with Sigel, Mizerak, Griffis, Hopkins, Rempe, Stickland, Reid, McCready, Omaha John, Hall, Varner, Liscotti, St.Louie Louie, Danny D.,David Howard, "Pretty Boy" Mataya, etc. The way they carried themselves, the way they dressed and the way they played.....it was certainly the "Golden Age of Pool".

Mizerak ... "Pretty Boy" Mataya

I would LOVE to have had the chance to hang out with those guys back in the day (lets say in the 70s or 80s). Regrettably though I had only just turned 14 when the 80s were over, and so even if I'd emigrated from the UK to the states, the chances of me meeting and sharing a drink with them would have been negligible.

From what I've seen of him on camera, Mizerak in particular seemed to have more charisma in his little finger than an average modern day hall full of players have between their whole selves.

Maybe one day when brain scanning and other technology gets good enough, you could digitise some of your memories and offer them for sale. I for one would be tempted to place a bid on ebay if a CJ memory came up. ...Of course they'd probably end up on a torrent site though.

We begin filming later today

I will write a book for you one of these days. There are a lot of stories, I played hundreds of gambling matches and traveled the road for many years wearing disguises and using aliases.

We begin filming three more DVDs later today: Banking - The Tip Technique , Beating the 15 Ball and One Pocket Ghost with TOI(describing how I do every shot as I play) and Secrets Of Precision Stroking.....I have leaned that everyone likes just one subject and to go into every detail about it.

We did this in the TOI VIDEO and it's getting great reviews, each of these will have 60-90 minutes dedicated to them with input from other pros as well. I'm also setting up a way to do streaming video private and group lessons with a computer program that's "almost like being here". It's interactive and is used for college teaching seminars and even surgeries.

Any requests would be welcome at this point. These subjects are based on input I've received on this Forum, Face Book and my recent students.

Hmmm....odd you jumped right to inferring my previous post referred to you.

Wonder why that is?

Stalkers tend to be paranoid themselves, so...
