Stick getting banged up

I play in bar leagues and my stick is taking a beating. Some of the clear coat has chipped off on the butt. Is there any quick fix to help it so it doesn't get worse. I was thinking a little bit of super glue.

If the finish has actually chipped off, then you have really been banging it up. Most finish will not actually chip off but will dent or scuff instead. It depends on the type of finish and if it has adhered to the cue.

Keep a beater for the bar league and a nice cue for elsewhere.

If you like the cue refinish it. Touch up can be ok but some will show.

When I got my South West, I played with it in leagues and was always being paranoid about banging it into something. Eventually it is going to happen. It took a while but I convinced myself that it can always be refinished. Between matches, I put it back in case. I still cringe when I hear a cue hit the floor,,,, but I know it wasn't mine.

I just had it refinished over the summer, it's been nice for a while but I always seem to hit something. Even playing at home.

One of the biggest mistakes

I see players doing is putting their sticks in a chair with a metal frame. You are asking for trouble if you do that. Buy a cue holder, they are not that much.

And I hope you are not one that bangs their stick against the table when you miss a shot. I am fairly short, and I use to have trouble when I broke with my playing cue with it getting scuffs just below the joint. Now I have a break cue, and I retrained my break shot.

I do need to get both of them refinished, at least my playing cue, but I am having a cue made this coming February, so I may wait until it is finished before I have my current playing cue refinished.

I always try to be as carefull as possible. I put my stick in my case when not using it. I seem to bang it on the ends of the table mostly when I'm walking around. I guesse I just get to focused on the layout of the table.
