It looks like an old ramen wood cue from the far east.

Can we get a pic of the male and female joint ends?

Asian import. Cheaply made, cheap product.

Funny when I see these with maple shafts I do wonder how good the shaft wood might be. Possibly rescue to make a shaft for a good cue if long enough, thick enough, and straight?

I have come across a couple with amazing shaft wood. Most, by far, are crap though of course.

That one has a little curl in it. Might be soft...might be nice wood though.

I certainly would not throw the shaft away without a careful look at that wood.

Back in the day when they were shipping a bunch of wood to Taiwan for cues nobody was standing there pulling out the choice pieces. It was just a bulk commodity. Now anybody sending good maple over needs shot. ;)

not a custom stick. so when you get a ten dollar bargain that may be exactly what it is worth.

I have found a 40gpi shaft on a J&J jump/break, 14mm and straight with a short ferrule so could be made into just about anything. Sold it for double the price of the cue.

Definitely pays to keep your eyes peeled.

One immediate give-away is the metal to metal join collars. Also, I've been trying to remember if I've ever seen one of these with a maple shaft. I think all the ones I saw had Ramin shafts.
