I am going to the derby and am going to look for new cue. I like stiffer hitting cue. Any ideas on what makers to keep an eye out for. I like nitti cues, bluegrass, scruggs, ang gilbert. Any help would be appreciated.

EAST COAST STIFF? OR STIFF LIKE A 2X4?

DEPENDING ON YOUR ANSWER.....

TASCARELLA, OR JAMES WHITE.

OR

KERSENBROCK, SW, OR BLUEGRASS.

I MEAN NO OFFENSE TO THE SECOND LIST OF CUEMAKERS, BUT TO ME THEY FEEL LIKE 2X4'S NOT CUES. I KNOW PLENTY OF GUYS THAT LIKE THAT THOUGH. THAT'S WHY I ASKED WHICH "STIFF" YOU WERE LOOKING FOR.

Lambros!! Very stiff hit!

I will have Varney and Patrick SPs and a Scruggs plane jane and others for sale at the Derby. Very reasonable prices. Whitten, Instroke, and Nitney cases too...

Mottey with steel joint and ivory ferrules. Same set up in a schon or R.Black. And of course a hard tip.

lol 2 x 4 haha well i have a bluegrass and it hits SOLID, yes it also means stiff too but i think what you want is consistency which is what alot of players look for when they say "stiff" and i can say that a bluegrass is. thats my .02 cents, honestly your just going to have to buy, trade, sell cues till you find the right now. every wood is different even if it came from the same machine...

I shot with a predator sneeky for a bit but wanted a custom so I got a krick. Now I want another custom, but I want a firm hit. I like nitti's, and gilbert's. Had a gilbert and it got away from me and I regret it. I am going to the derby in search of another nice cue to add to my little collection. All advise is greatly appreciated. Mottey makes a beautiful cue, I just dont know if I can afford one. thanks johnnyg:cool:

Andy Gilbert makes a stiff hitting cue but my Hills cue hit harder than my brother's Gilber Jump Break. I've tried several southwest cues but the gilbert and hill have a stiffer hit to me.

I have a Carolina Custom SP, and it has a fantastic stiff feel. It is in fantastic shape and completely logo free (true SP).
I can make you a good deal on it. It should be easy to flip at DCC if you dont like it for some reason.
