I first played him in 1990 and he was old then, and I was told today that he is 87. He has lots of slime and plays every day and dont wear glasses, and he know how to trap you. He always has something to sell or trade and is really well liked by everyone. I am happy he is still going. One table is a 10 Foot. pool 022.JPG

And why the #s on the pockets?
Couldn't say about the 2 and the 3.
I'd guess that the 1 and the 15 means that in there, they play 8-Ball where the player with the solids has to make his one ball in the side numbered 1 and the guy with the stripes has to make his 15 ball in the opposite side....(numbered 15).
It can be a tough game if the players know their way around.

Apartments too.

They have 20 living places about 10 ft square for a buck a month. You can see a couple doors above one of the billiard tables and this is the same room.pool 012.JPG

The pockets have #s when you call a shot you call that pocket by number. 1$15 is the most popular game and if you move the opponets 1 or 15 he can leave it or move it back, but sometimes they play where you can move those balls with a good hit. If the 8 touches a ball before it goes in the pocket its a loss so you lob another ball in front of the pocket. Many play that the 8 has to be made on the same side as you 1 or 15 was made. If a person needs a spot they can move the opponents 1 or 15 and it stays put but you can move yours back. Another spot is to make the 1 or 15 in any pocket and the better player only has one corner pockt for the 8, and it gets clustered up. I have also seen whe the better player can only make the 8 in the side pocket.
I have also seen 9 ball partners and if one player is weaker he gets the 8 or the 7 and everyone else plays even. To discuss all the rules would take a week.
