Stolen Cue thread?

Does anyone still look at the Stolen Cue thread just to be aware of what may turn up that is stolen on eBay, another site, or at the place you shoot. After having a friend get his cues stolen, I am going to start paying more attention. These crooks have to sell them to somebody, lets find them. Shooter08

Stolen Cues

Just curious if we could make a sticky with pictures of stolen cues in it so none of us out there buy one or might be able to help someone recover theirs.Just an idea,so post your pics and any info here. :)

Words of caution - you can’t leave cues unattended in any pool room - you either have someone trusted watch it for you or it goes to the restroom with you- period! Also cannot leave cues in passenger sections of even locked vehicles - most cars today you can use the car trunk and use your valet car key to lock out the trunk from any interior access from the car via a glove compartment switch.

Expensive cues can be secured in home rifle safes that can be bolted to interior closet walls - locked and out of site! Combined with monitored home alarm systems.

All three of these are relatively simple procedures that unfortunately apply to life today.


BTW - my last line of defense against those who would be stupid enough to try parking lot robberies or home invasion robberies of my stuff is named Smith and Wesson.

I'm pretty paranoid about my gear when I go to public pool rooms, so I always go with friends and family to insure that my cues do not walk away, or I get jumped in the parking lot without another camera phone being present. I don't even dare consider bringing my cues as checked baggage given all the past horror stories with TSA agents lifting "souvenirs." My wife's engagement/wedding ring box vanished during our honeymoon return flight from Hawaii -- fortunately she was wearing the ring, so all the crooks got was the empty box. A few months later we saw a news story about an organized theft ring busted at the same airports we went through.

Unless it's one of a kind cue I don't think your going to have much luck recovering a cue.

Sad world we live in where that's just accepted. You could leave your phone, wallet, cues and a big pile of money on the table and it wouldn't go astray here.

My dad had a snooker cue stolen from the back of his Ford Sierra in the late 90s. Smash and grab. But it was recovered when some idiot tried to sell the same one-off custom locally.

Unless it's one of a kind cue I don't think your going to have much luck recovering a cue.

I used to have a Schon STL 3 and I could pick it out of a lineup based on the wood and wrap, also some people mark their cues.
