Stolen Cues Alert - reward for return

You described it as "strongarming". If he brought the cues to the person who claimed they were stolen without having received one penny then that is a return of the cues not "strongarming".

The charged party claims that Cornerstone said something to the effect, "yeah, bring the cues on over and we'll discuss the money you are out". Cornerstone then arranged for his "friends" in the police department to arrest him as if he had demanded money in exchange for the cues. Cornerstone didn't dispute that.

It's a stretch to claim he demanded money in exchange for the cues if he brought the cues without having first received ANYTHING or even an expression of commitment that he would receive any specific amount.

So much for your suitability as a "relay".

You are a goof ball, you don't have any idea what was said on the phone between the two parties. They both agreed that he was offered $500 to return the cues as a reward and he asked for $2,000. If someone tried to get me to spend 2K to get my property back after I had already made a more than generous offer would probably have the police waiting for them also.

BTW thanks for the negative feedback, when I get a Red rep from someone like you I know that I am doing something right.

He asked for more to compensate him for the money he had had at risk when he won the cues and claims Cornerstone's response was along the lines of (paraphrase) "come on over and let's discuss it". Cornerstone didn't deny that. So, as I said above: "It's a stretch to claim he demanded money in exchange for the cues if he brought the cues without having first received ANYTHING or even an expression of commitment that he would receive any specific amount."

BTW, the red rep is for giving me red rep from the original cue theft thread just because you disagreed with me. So you got some back for the same reason. So I guess you have a lot less concern about dishing it out than you do about getting it back the same way for the same reasons. Stop your whining.

I hope they get caught fast!

Thats why I have a GPS tracker & 50 foot alarm with my name on my case.

If I catch somebody with my case.
They can't say they thought it was their's.
So I won't feel bad when they have a house cue sticking out of their body somewhere.

I think maybe we should setup a thief sometime just to have some fun.

I'll supply the alarm Just to catch the crook that (DESERVES) it.

Where do you get a 50 foot alarm gps tracker? is there really such a thing available currently. I think it would be a big seller and I have never heard or seen one.

What a poolroom needs is a bathroom cart so a person needing to use the facility's can put their cue, case, phone ipod and whatever else personal items they have with them on the bathroom cart and pull it like a bag of golf clubs to the cart so you keep all you stuff off the floor. Oh yeah it needs a jacket holder too. Then yo can go take a leak in peace knowing you have all your stuff with you.

Or perhaps better yet we the people in poolroom could help each other out and tell the thief's to leave that stuff alone it is not yours.

Personal story I had a plain Hubler and case stolen out of a pool room many years ago bummed me out to no end as it was the first nice cue I ever purchased new. Then I went back in that room a few weeks later and the counter man had my cue he took it away from someone and returned it to me, he never told me who had it so I think it was a regular in the room but he knew me as I had bought that cue from that room. I got my equipment back and have tried to keep a closer eye on cues ever since. I am guilty of going to the bathroom and leaving my cue on the table. I see very few cues in the bathroom. Personally when I travel to strange rooms for work I do take my cue in with me but I leave my case under the table.

Thieves should be branded or marked in some public way, perhaps cutting off thumbs or hands has some merit would definitely make people consider before they steal. Tattoo or brand thief on their forehead would also be a start in the right direction.
