The cue pictured below was shipped to an address in Austin, TX.

It was purchased with a stolen credit card.

Any help in recovering the cue or finding the thief will be highly appreciated.

Dick...you might want to see if there are any threads concerning tournaments in TX soon, and post the cue pic there as well...it may quite likely show up.

what was the specific address? Cristina DeLaGarza will probably know which poolhalls are most popular within that vicinity

Very important

File a police report. I am pretty sure that is a 1 of 1 Cue especially with those returns and buttcap and plate.
Nick :)

yes without a doubt file a report.

with the pics and report when it turns up, wherever, you'll be guaranteed to have it returned

a nice distinguished cue ... good luck

The local police just left my home. The initial report has to start here.

Google Earth shows the ship to address near Lake Austin.

It is one of a kind and I have photos (pictured above), the snake wood and figured maple are as distinctive as a finger print.

Be sure to keep an eye on ebay and craigslist too...woulnt be too hard to pull up local pool halls and pawn shops in the area and shoot them an email or a call..good luck finding the scumbag

The most likely pool halls for it to turn up would be Skinny Bob's in Round Rock or the Warehouse Saloon in Austin. Maybe get a hold of Rod Gustafson (BCA Master Instructor). He knows a ton about what is going on in the Austin area as far as cues are concerned. Beautiful cue and I hope you get it back. Good luck.

First I am sorry for your loss and nightmare. It is true that the investigation starts with you initially, then the trail is established. What shipping service did you use If I may ask? I had an incident years ago and had shipped through the US Postal Service, they were exceptional in helping me. The perp was arrested, prosecuted and did time in Lake County Il for his crimes. He had ripped off over a dozen folks and five of us got together and hunted him down. My advice (for what it's worth) is to keep meticulous records of all correspondence throughout your investigation. I had a large desk calendar and made notes on it regarding exacatly when any filings needed to be done and also all correspondence regarding the situation. It's a lot of footwork but getting the guy in the end made it all worth while for me. Good luck & Be Strong!
