Storing a table...

What's the best method to store a pool table? I have an 8', 3 piece slate table! Just curious what the best method for storing is, laying slate flat or standing on side in a crate? Does the temperature matter when storing indoors?

Thanks,
Zim

Im not a table mechanic, but I think the best way to store slate would be on it's side, preferably in a crate. Laying the slate down is a bad idea because it can potentially warp.

You're right, as storing the slate standing on end keeps it weightless so to speak. Slate stored flat can and will pick up the level of the floor, or what ever else it's layed down on over time.

If the garage is going to be in use, make sure the wood parts are protected, as road salt brought in on the cars won't help them any.
