Straight Pool Tutorial with Thorsten

I'm a fan of Thorsten. That being said, this wasn't all that informative. Maybe enlightening for strangers to the game. It confirmed a long held suspicion I've had regarding Thorstens pattern play, but he sure can put balls in the pockets. It also shows the significance of the big opening breakshot, which I always have been partial to.

I enjoyed the video.

From what I understood he makes educated guesses
on what will happen when he breaks at speed.
He has done enough of them to have a good idea.
His pattern recognition is second nature at this point
and trying to play each shot to perfection is
too mentally draining for long runs.

Plus, you got a guy interrupting before every shot.
It's fun to watch him make a ball, get his mind right,
flow to the next shot, get interrupted, then just get down
and make the next without really resetting.

Not super informative but, I was entertained.

regardless, Thorsten would make a shit teacher

I have met the guy and I can assure you
his knowledge is extensive.
He could teach if he wanted to.
You can't show much in a 15 min video.
This video was not structured in a way
that makes a great tutorial video.

If you ever get a chance to rap with him about
straight pool or fundamentals and he had the time,
you will learn a thing or two.

You can’t leave us in suspense - What’s your long held suspicion regarding Thorsten’s pattern play? That he doesn’t plan out his patterns as precise as a traditional 14.1 champion like Cool Cat Ray?

Anyone else notice how ripped Thorsten is? I wouldn’t have figured a world class pro pool player would have guns like he’s got. Obviously he’s been spending nearly as much time working out as he has on a pool table!

You kinda sound a little aroused talking about a man's muscles there. Tell us more, Cowboy...

... one of the best techniques in all of pocket billiards that every student of the sport should learn as well as one of the best 14.1 Continuous player in today's modern age and you're telling me the guy is a terrible teacher?
Shows how much you know...
Listen, rather than mommy telling you how special you are and thinking you're the best 8-ball player on a bar table, why don't you step away from the computer and go play on the freeway, child. Make sure you get some corona in ya, as well... it will do you some good.
