Two days ago I get to the room and start warming up, when the game (1P) starts we rack the balls and notice the 14 ball is missing. We do the search and can't find it.
In order to play we take a 14 ball from another table. The table is a new 9' Pro-Am ball return. I also know that the table had been used the same day for 8 ball. The next day I come in get on the same table and again start playing 1P, I also brought a 14 ball to use. About a hour into playing the missing 14 ball appears in the ball return area. By this time quite a few balls have gone down the ball returns. Has anyone had anything like this happen? Any idea where the ball would get hung up?

Happens all the time.

Usually because people accidentally drop chalk into the pockets. Enough chalk and the balls will hang up. You just have to drop balls into all the pockets to dislodge.

One time on a diamond red label we lost the 9 ball. We looked everywhere, threw balls down each pocket like 30 times and searched the floor all around. Nothing.

Eventually I started searching around the ball return area again. I can’t picture the exact situation right now but there was an area above and to the left (maybe the right as well) of the ball return slot, it was raw plywood or some unfinished wood and the ball was stuck in there.

I don’t know how it could possibly get there as it didn’t look like any part of the ball return could accidentally lead there. The ball was even wedged a bit if I remember correctly so I don’t think it ever could’ve come out on it’s own so not quite the same situation but still. Weird things happen sometimes. I must’ve wasted a half hour looking for that damn ball

The nice thing about a Diamond is that if you drop chalk in a pocket, you can usually see it from one of the slots at either end and fish it out with a cue.

A few months ago I left the cue ball on my table. My German Shorthaired Pointer has a thing for balls. Leave a ball on the table and he'll steal it. But he's never touched a ball in the ball return. He must have taken the cue ball and put it between the cushions of my sofa. I looked for that cue ball for 4 days. I came home from work a week later, sat down, and there it was.

If a ball is in the table, and you can't find it, look in both ends of the table through the rack slot, and the cut out at the head end of the table, if the ball is IN the table, you'll see it, if you don't see it, it's NOT in the table.

I dropped a box of balls in my garage 3 years ago. I could not find the 11 ball. After two years, my daughter gave me an 11 ball for Xmas, lol. I hope it turns up if we empty the garage to move or to clean.
