Stretch System Demonstration

I saw this on another forum and thought it was a great demonstration of the Stretch System. I have used one of these for several years but this is the best demo I have ever seen on the internet. I am not selling these and I am not associated in any way with this company I just thought I would share this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfILq6M8F1Q

No, I'm not selling them. I have one but it's not for sale. There is an 800 # on the video but I don't know it it works as I have never tried it.

I have one of these also

I have one of these also. It has a Pro Billiards tour logo on it so it must have been legal at some time! First $50.00 can have mine!

they are sold through the inventor mike danner who also happens to be the guy in the video with the funny hat.he sell them for $100 plus shipping.the 800 # is out of commision but you can reach him at 225-772-5662.i think he is looking for investors to help bring his product mainstream

That's about 100 inches..wonder if it's patented..there're some players in the recent WPC also using an extender for their cues.

Do you have the bridge and cue extender? If so, consider sold.

By the way, Mike does this little exhibition any time he is around. When I first started playing he was at the Viking Championship and shot with me for a few hours. He's a great guy and has some great road/sales stories. I wouldn't buy one then because I played too badly.

Why not use a bridge, and maybe a $10 cue extension?... I don't even think all of that is necessary though.

All I know is this, if you walk into a pool hall with all those kinds of contraptions, you will get played.... so maybe it's worth the $50. But I think a pink glove is just as effective, and costs less.

I think I agree with you. I like the idea of an adjustable bridge length, but that is all I think it brings to the table. I might be interested if the adjustable portion was available by itself for short money to put my moose head bridge on.
I'm not intrigued, but for those who are... http://www.advancedbilliardsystems.com/

Seeing the jump reminded me of something I saw Mike Webb (the cue maker) do once. He was hooked behind a ball in the middle of the table, maybe 3 or 4 inches clearance. He grabbed the house bridge from under the table, and with his playing cue effortlessly jumped over the interferring ball.

I thought I was the only one to think of that.. =)

Danner is our friend and I have one of his own personal bridges. The reason it is superior over other systems is because it has strings so you can lift the bridge and your cue in one fluid motion, avoiding the cueball coming back into your bridge when the shot is far down table.

It also extends farther than any other system I have seen. It was originally designed for wheelchair players and snooker tables. Furthermore, the head swivels so that you can get right over the ball.

If you think using this system is for sissies, maybe you can tell that to Rich Geiler and Dan Louie, who use it exclusively. :p

I don't think anybody was suggesting it was for sissies, just unneccessary.

It's between $50 and $100. I'll bet that against anyone posting it's worth it on one mid-table jump shot. Try it with a standard bridge against Mike Danner with the stretch system. I know a few pros that have one in their car/suitcase. They may not carry it in the pool room, but I bet in a race for $1000+, they would go to the car to get it.

I don't have any stake in the sales of it, but Mike is a great guy who sells a quality product. You are right, you do not have to use this setup. Their are many other cheaper products that can give successful results. So, feel free to shoot with a Cuetech.

Back in 1994 or '95 Mike Danner wanted to film an instructional video that was to be included in the purchase of the Stretch System. He need a Pro and flew Johnny Archer to Seattle. He used Mr Z's pool room in Lynnwood as the location to do the filming. He also wanted to have a child in the video to demonstrate how it would be helpful to a shorter person and that a child could use the system. He used my son Ryan who was 8 or 9 years old at the time. As payment for his appearance Ryan received the system which we still have. Due to prior commitments I was unable to go along and Ryan's mother went with. She didn't get any information on how to obtain a copy of the video nor did she take any photos. To date I still have not seen the video. If anyone has a copy of the video or could tell me how I could see it, I would appreciate it very much. On a side note, Ryan talked with Johnny several years later at the Reno Open and Johnny remembered him and the filming of the video. They talked about it again when Johnny came up to Seattle for Maria's benefit a couple of years ago.

Best system out there. I own a 5 x 10 table and was lost until I bought one from Mike. In addition to being able to reach anywhere with the telescoping bridge, added features such as the swivel head make impossible shots possible. The strings on the bridge head also are helpful if you have to get the bridge out of the way quickly. The very long extension is great to use with your bridge shots in that it enables you to use your normal stroke instead of an overhand stroke. Mike is a great guy and a pleasure to deal with. You might think that $100 is a bit steep, but if it helps you win one $100 bet, well - there you are!!!

You're right, there some shots that you can make with the
Stretch System that can't be made with any other bridge or extention.
