Strickland Archer Pool School,

I just realized that I am getting emails from people due to this thread but noboys is answering it just emailing. So I have to bump again as this seems to be working a little, I won't do to often, Thank all of you for your patience with this thread if you have seen it or have no interest,
Mark Cantrill

As some people here know, I know Johnny and I have played him lots of times or we take turns useing the table, We never play races or sets(maybe 2 or 3 times) But I have spent hours with him pplaying or racking for him playing 14.1. He is a very good instructor and picks up on peoples mistakes in form(stance, stroke problems, etc) quickly, as he said on the quote on the main page of AZ "I can judge peoples speed" or something like that (I dont want to go read it again) but that quote is spot on, he can judge people so fast its amazing, when were watching a match together he can call the winner so earily in a match, he is so smart and seasoned because he pays attention at every tournment for so long he has crazy skills of picking winners, and peoples speed etc.

As for Earl I know him as a aquitance only and have spoke to him several times, he cares about the game and is interested in teaching the right things to people. I asked him to see his shaft when he was leaving right after he beat Peach and he stopped and took the time to explain why he likes his shaft the way he likes it, he gave me his time because he knew I was really interested in his shaft, not him, however I do like Earl. I didnt waste any of his time and said "We'll catch up later". He is a good instructor too, no doubt about it nad showman, fireing in the "wing shot" like nothing.

I spoke to Johnny after the last trip they did and he said "It was great working with Earl and the time flew by" He was wondering if they had more time than material the first time, it ended up they had more teaching to do than time and "Everyone, Me and Earl had a great time". I was going to go to the one in Phoenix but my back was too bad. This is a great oppertunity for anyone to go. I'm not getting paid a penny to say this, This isnt a advertizement-it might seem like one but it isnt, I know these guys and am just saying its a good chance to do something you'll remember for along time. If it wasnt I wouldnt say anything, but because I know it is, I'll endorse it, wow I sound like a democrat now.

seriously if you can make it do it.

Fatboy is right about this, its really a great oppurtunity. You have 2 of the top 10 nine ball players ever,Earl perhaps being number 1 all time teaching you,its something you will never forget and a chance to see these guys in the flesh and not just tv.It is interesting to see the many sides of Earl and how much he loves the game so when he teaches you your going to learn something so valuable.Archer has a different style to his game so take what you can from each and see your game go up a notch or 2 then this is the cheapest way to do it!

Thank you Lenny and Eric for saying the things you said. If I say those things I imagine people just say "yeah he is just saying what he has to to sell the deal" This is not the case. Saying those things is the absolute truth. Who knows when these guys will ever be in the same room again to teach? I hope for a long time but as we all know things happen, so I say take advantage of it. We have a few stops already filled up and still taking names as we may add a second school. Some other stops are close to being full but still need a few more. 8 vstops in 9 days, Thanks again for your support guys in keeping this thread alive.

These two players really enjoy meeting the fans and being able to pass along their knowledge. Everybody should take advantage of this if it comes to your area. It really is a great price to learn from two legends of the game.

Coming to Cali

Yeah, Strickland and Archer are coming to Shoreline Billiards in Sunnyvale/Mountain View, California around July 18th. Unfortunately, I'll have moved to Austin, TX by then.

Anyone know when they'll hit Austin, TX?

wrong side of the country.

florida ftw.

Don't give up hope.

There is a chance that may happen.

Earl was just down here, he lives in the Carolinas and Johnny lives in Georgia. I have been talking to Mark about getting them to do a few dates down here, if there is a demand and we can fill the classes - it can happen.

It's a short trip for both of them, and I know Johnny has been sacrificing time with his family to commit to these dates, but he's enjoying the hell out of it!

We hope for Texas to be our next set of stops. We have already got deals in Dallas, Austin and El Paso so hopefully we can get Houston, Corpus Christi and San Antonio to make it a nice road trip. Email me at cantrillmark@yahoo.com with your direct # and I will make sure that when that happens (soon I hope) you will be made aware, thanks,

You are right on man, I mean doesn't want to come to FLA?? There has to be enough work there for us thats all. So many great players and pros live there or very close by that if enthusiasts want to see top Pros play or get lessons they have access to them already. As I told you that is my only concern. But man I want to spent a few days in FLA> Please make it happen as this will be my vacation, Can I bring the kids and stuff?? :)

I wonder if they teach students how to slam cues around without getting any dings? :)

(Just kidding, these guys are great!)
