Since I am from the Midwest, I wont be attending anyway, but you dont signify as to where the exhibition will occur.

Man, I love both these guys...
But their characters are complete opposites. Lol.

As much as I love Tony...
I'm really looking forward to a Strickland comeback these days! So good luck to the Pearl and hope he at least behaves and plays some good pool, regardless of a W or an L. :)

And thanks to Amsterdam for housing the event. Good job, guys! :D

Poor Tony. A nice guy like him shouldn't be subjected to this torture.

as ironic as this may sound, i don't think earl will misbehave during the exhibition. there won't be any stress on him to win. when he's in a good mood (winning or playing an exibition), he's a ton of fun.

agreed. i think its just the high pressure situations that cause the melt downs.

NYCC is pretty cool. I knew a cat-3 rider who plays pool well. Actually I heard Greg of ABC is into cycling as well..

I did a small 50 mile ride yesterday. Wish people can get the bikes out more often instead of just a few days in a year.

uncalled for

No, it's not. As a matter of fact, Tony Robles is one of the most gracious and sociable players in Men's Pro pool. I hope Earl doesn't have a melt down, but if he did, Tony would be one to handle the situation in a most professional manner.

I actually do think that both players will have a great time together.

I owe Tony BIG TIME and anyone going to this exhibition can let him know that the next time I know he's going to be at one of my events, he's got the "Nuts" from me!!

oh, wheely? ;) i was a cat3 racer (15 years and 40 pounds ago). hard to get the weight off if you hang out in poolrooms. hard to imagine i paid about the same for my bike as i did for all my cues combined. i play pool better than i ride, gotta tell ya. :(

That's about when I was riding too. I never got to cat 3, so I'm mediocre at best on both, but I can have occasional flashes of brilliance on a pool table, so I'll have to go with pool as my best pursuit.

Cuetable, I used to log about 5000 miles a year, but I never encountered a "small 50 miler".

Any chance there will be a taping of the match, Robles is one of my favorite players. I for sure would never be able to make it.

I used to race as a teenager, then quit after a drunk driver totaled my Peugeot and sent me bouncing across four empty lanes of pavement one night.

A friend of mine bought a mountain bike in 1997, and I got tired of hearing how much fun he was having and decided to take up riding again. He tried to get me to buy a mountain bike, but once I got to the bike shop I knew I wanted to get back on the road. I bought a Mondonico road bike with full Campagnolo components, and put over 9,000 miles on it my first year of riding. A 50 mile ride was an average ride for me.

I don't ride as much anymore, especially after getting back to pool in 1999, but I still have my Mondonico and it still rides as smooth as butter.

It could happen, as long as the crowd remembers to cheer at the proper time. And not root too hard for Tony.

So you see, he does have control of his emotions, and should be held accountable. That was my point earlier. He should not get a pass because he is under stress. No one else does.
