I'm sure Mika does feel sick right now but all credit to Corey, playing the final game takes a lot of bottle.

To be honest I was a little indifferent as to who would win the Cup. I'm English but the USA is my home now, to me the main thing is the quality of the games. Just a shame we couldn't see it!

Maybe Earl's admonishing of his teammates was the stimuli needed. I wonder what his teammates have to say about his tongue lashing.

Congratulations to team USA!

I guess you are one of those that are quick to judge.Surprising.
Oh no, not at all being judgemental. I actually somewhat enjoy the tenacity of your posting style. I just really don't understand why people are thinking you are Earl.:D :D
I Hope you enjoyed the Mosconi Cup and cheers to the USA for defending.

Lets see hes playing pool in Europe and you are doing what? Making sad sounds on the internet.

I"m sorry, and no offense to either one of you, but that made me chuckle right there:D

Every sport has their "bad boy" and every cable network needs one

Earl is a God???

Maybe earl got some lime light match advise about cue treatment from Mike Sigel, :)

I don't care, I like Earl, and the passion He has for the game. I think He just wants to play at a top level so badly, when He can't it drives him to the brink.

I wish I felt that strongly for the game at times.

Gerry

Did anyone notice that 'He' is capitalized throughout?

Hey have you ever tried to play much less win in that type of atmosphere. You go Earl.....................We love you!

I'm guessing no, not many people have played in that type of atmosphere, mainly because Strickland is the only one who actively goes looking to create that sort of atmosphere in the first place.

The crowd were being respectful to Earl until Earl started to misbehave. They applauded a good shot from him, only for him to slag them off "What are they all applauding for?", and called the audience "assholes". Then he acts surprised that the crowd is against him.

You'll notice that no other US player ever gets that sort of treatment from the Euro crowd - if the players respect the crowd, the crowd respects the players - Strickland thinks he can shout his mouth off all the time, and yet still have everyone fawn over him and tell him he's wonderful. He ain't wonderful; he's a big baby with real mental issues.

He also did one of the worst sharking moves I ever saw in his match against Engert - getting up and talking loudly to the ref while Engert was preparing to take a shot. Maybe not too bad in normal circumstances, but when the player has a 30 second shot clock, he was obviously just trying to distract Engert. Dunno what he asked the ref, but whatever it was, it could have waited until either Earl's visit to the table, or the end of the rack.

Also, yes it's surprising that the cue shattered so easily, but then I'm guessing it had been weakened by similar incidents in the past. It was at least the 2nd time he'd hit his cue on the floor during the event.

Elizabeth,

You make such a point of supporting Earl and are maybe right on a point or two, but you are doing it at your own expense.

The sharp answers and one liners will eventually get you in trouble and maybe even banned if you keep the current trend up.

Since you are so big into supporting and respecting the Billiard community, I suggest you start here.
