Stroke Trainer (Cue Track)

GMAC...Some books/videos/instructors insist that your cue must be under your dominant eye. Some others insist that your cue be lined up directly centered under your chin. In some cases, this is true. In other cases, not. Your cue should be lined up where you PERCEIVE a straight line. That may be under your dominant eye (if you have one...25% don't), or it might not be. It might be directly under your chin...or it might not be. It doesn't matter. All that matters, is that the cue is lined up where you perceive a straight line...and more importantly, that you can actually deliver the cue into that perceived straight line. It's seems that wherever your cue is lined up, you don't perceive a straight line. Move your cue under your face, until you "see" a straight line. Then stroke the CB (use a stripe, with the stripe vertically aligned) up and down the centerline of the table...up to the rail and back to your tip. If your stroke is straight, it will be an alignment issue, in why the CB doesn't return to your tip. If not, it is a stroke issue. Both can be fixed pretty easily, with a little professional help.

I bought this a few weeks ago because everybody that stands behind me says I have right on the ball and I swear I am hitting dead center. So, I figured this was the best way to check it out. Sure enough when I use the trainer I feel like I have left english on the ball, even though I am hitting dead center.

What is it with my eyes that makes it appear I am hitting center ball when I have a little bit of right on the ball?? Why do I see the CB this way??

As someone else said, it sounds like a dominant eye or head position thing. Maybe consciously moving your head one way or the other will help. If it looks like your tip is centered when it's really to the right, try centering your tip and moving your head to the left until it looks centered.

Cue Track

Everyone on this forum needs some ateral, stay focused HAS ANYONE USED THE CUE TRACK? THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EYES. Stay focused people cue track. This excludes DMGWALSH he got the question.

I have one of the original one that Doug put out. In one way its like any other aid or lesson you get, if you dont use it and its worthless. But IMO if you spend time with it you will get your moneys worth.

I quit playing a while back, and only play once in a while now, but if I were going to try so play seriously again I would get it out and work with it again.

Of course my comments are based on the trainer that Doug designed, I have never tried so cant give an oppinion on the one in the link you posted. I assume they are based on the same idea and would work in a similar manner.

I was a little surprised so many people got off track. I was very surprised that Scott Lee used this thread as a springboard to talk about Joe Tucker, who does happen to be a very good instructor. Especially in light of the fact that Cue Track has been endorsed by Randy G and Jerry Brieseth, with whom Scott has taught.

Yeah, I got it. I've been using it a bit for months now.

I have a bad habit of lifting up or twisting to the side at the end of my stroke.

I don't lift up as bad or twist as bad as I used to and I think it may be because of using this contraption.

I'm going to continue to use this thing until I can get the hitch out of my stroke.View attachment 101482

DENNIS: Check your perpendicular in the SET position. If you are a little ahead, the hand twists.....SPF=randyg
