Stuck in a B league

Need some opinions here.I never played in a bar league before.A friend at work asked me to join his team. The team was in last place after 2 weeks. I joined and now with one more week to go we are in first place with no chance of losing that spot. I am the number one player in the league out of 98.
The point to the whole story is that i am an A player maybe AA and I'm bored to death beating everyone. There is no challenge at all.So I'm thinking about joining an A team next year. But i do enjoy my team members and we have a lot of fun. But it's boring to dominate everyone i play. It got to the point where i played under my speed just to have some fun and still wound up 86 wins and 8 losses. Now I'm going to get about a $100 for coming in first and another $100 for first place team. What to do? Be the big fish in a small pond or play with the better players.I think i know what I'm going to do.

I'd say that it's time to move on, brother.

I would imagine that the other players in the league give you a lot of grief for ripping up their league.

I have been told a few times that i should not be in their league, that's why i dropped down a gear just to finish the season with out a lot of grief.

I would suggest moving up, or you will be labeled a "cherry picker" and also, IMHO your game with go down in the long run if you continue playing competitors that don't challenge you.

I'm sure you know what to do. And it can't be much fun for you going into a match knowing you are going to win.

While I'm a horrible D player in pool I can relate in tennis which has a similar handicapping system. They rated me a solid 3.0 player, so in my first tournament I played my rating and a rating up, 3.5. I ended up winning both, I think the reason why was because I played with a 4.5 player all the time, I would play down with lesser players and play up with better players.

It wasn't much fun playing people I knew I would beat, but it was great fun beating better players and I learned alot.

Hi,
I see better players lose a gear when they play people who can't challenge them. I'm not one of the good players, but imagine that progression is inhibited by continually winning.

I play on a barbox at my tattoo shop where I go, they have all played there for years and are all D- players at best. I really like to hang out with the guys, but it does get old winning every game. I suppose thats how JA feels or Efren. LOL

sigh!

Winning is a *****. It must be hell to be you. Oh well. I guess even in pool people must rise to their level of incompetence.:outtahere::grin:

I think one of the only places that winning does not get old is a Casino, horse race track, stock market etc.
