Jeff...thanks. Thanks for bringing HR 1528 to my attention. Although I personally do not use any mind altering substances, I do appreciate and value my civil rights and those of others, who may choose their lifestyle in the privacy of their own homes. The removal of judge's abilities to individualize sentencing and the "snitch" system that is proposed here could have potentially devastating social consequences. I have sent in the letter in support of oppostion to this proposed bill. Thanks again.
That's good, rayjay. This war (on real
people, not a drug(s), btw) has pretty much already destroyed the constitution, but go for it. Personally, I've almost given up on political action as it effectiveness is waning. 30 years of banging my head against the wall hurts.
Remember, with this law, it won't matter anymore if YOU use or not.
Suppose you're playing pool and your opponent goes to the bathroom, comes out, and suddenly he can run the table. If you know he's using, and YOU don't report it within 24 hours, you could go to jail for 10 frickin' years!
First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.
