Yeah that is a good gimmick. All you have to do is find really hot girls that want to work for nearly nothing in tips. Should be pretty easy.
Since I compete with the summer movie season for students money I have done promotions like
"Bring in the ticket stub from Pirates of the Carribbean and get half off pool this weekend." Or whatever major movie is opening that weekend. Or do it the following Monday, "Movie Mondays!" Just have to put flyers out everywhere so people dont forget. Or have business cards made up with the promo advertised. You can get cheap business cards made up online in small quantities at vistaprint.com I think it is. Good luck!!

Also, selling beer, having a clean place with good equipment, and air conditioning has it's perks.
But, I think that having a room that offers a well stocked pro-shop, full cue repairs, including refinishing also offers something that too many room owners over look.

$10 per person and you can play all night. You actually do better per customer. If a party of 4 comes in, they will only usually stay 2 hours. They leave happy because they think they got a deal. Even two people. The only thing you have to watch is the regulars hogging all the tables, but, nothing draws a crowd like a crowd. I used to have this promotion every day of the week in the summer. In season I would have it every night but Fri and Sat.

I agree get involved with your local APA pool league. Host pool any and every night that you can. We have a similar problem here local. New owner just took over A very high class establishment and is trying to put on his own turneyments. He is trying to draw would class competers but there is a whole lot more APA players then World class competers. We will see what hapens. You need to decide what class of people you are going to cater to.
