Super Billiards Expo is less than 3 weeks away. Who is attending, and what are you looking forward to?

For me, I signed up for the Amateur Open. For the first time I signed up my friend for the Senior, so we can watch each other's matches, and not have to worry about scheduling conflicts.

My usual is
9AM, arrive and have breakfast at Bob Evan's
10AM Players Meeting
11AM My first match
11:30 AM I'm usually 2 and out
11:45 AM, or play tie breaker.
11:45 AM - 12:15, trying to find my friends

Afternoon, check out the vendors and watch the Professionals.

Be there Thurs afternoon till Sat evening. Picking up some chalk, williards tip scuffers, maybe a T-shirt or 2 for the wife & son. Mostly looking forward to running into old azb friends & shooting the bull. Seeing what new cues they have in there stable this year.
Its always a good time at the expo.
 
Hope I can make it this year, last year was my first time. Got my ass kicked last year in the open amateur and the action room, but I've gotten better and ready to try again.
 
I get there Thursday morning. Shoot in the am open. Bought cues at past expos but I'm not in the market for cues anymore. Might buy some odds and ends like chalk or scuffers or something clever that I see. Will be meeting with friends from online and shooting on the action tables a lot.

Good times.
 
My second Expo as I took 40+ years off and only back 2 years. It couldn't be a better location as I live 20 minutes away from the Oaks Expo Center. Playing in the senior. Shameless promotion for my home poolroom twenty minutes away from the Expo, Classic Billiards. Love to meet some of you guys for a couple of sets. All 9 foot GC's. Heated Gabriel Kronos 3 cushion table. 10 foot snooker table.

Staying 20min from the expo and classic for the next 3 weeks.
Might sell a Szam, pick up chalk, break cue(not sure why), ball cleaner. Play Wed night and AM open.

This was good. Going 2 and out then looking for your buddies struck me as funny, for some reason. Hey, as long as you have fun, right?
 
Also catch up with friends, especially those I don't see on a regular basis outside of Amsterdam and Steinway (NYC poolhalls).

I was to the first one as a kid with my dad watching. (I believe Pat McNally won the amateur open) and have been to most but not all since. I play the open and usually win a match or two before running into a horse. I've run into quite a few very high finishers very early on. If I get a decent draw maybe one year I will cash. I always have a ton of fun. Not much for gambling but have played the 10-20 tables some in the past. I enjoy the vendors, drooling over some gorgeous cues that I will never own, and the whole experience. Only missed a couple due to work but as long as it's within driving distance I will always try to make it!
 
We will be there Thursday morning...Booth 319. Be there until Sunday. Stop by and say "Hi".

I come to enjoy the weekend. Love checking out all the vendors (eye candy). Like watching some of the pros and the action in the practice room.
 
Think I'm going to be making the drive out for Saturday only.

I'm most likely going to SBE Fri. I do not have my wife's permission to buy anything so I might call on you to serve as a straw buyer. And yes Classic Billiards is worth a visit. People... Hook up with Philly if possible. He's good competition and fun to shoot with.

My first time going was in 14. Due to obligations I could not get there till Friday night so I couldn't enter in any tournies so was just going to hand out and get in some action maybe . I took a beech with me and we stayed at the Crowne Plaza on the Lincoln Hwy???? A bunch of my boys from Dundalk ended up sharing 2 rooms at some chain hotel right off the parkway, maybe 10 - 15 minutes from my hotel ( turnpike??? ) Anyhow, one of my boys from Dundalk was playing in the seniors and had a match scheduled for 10am. I told him I'd try to stop by to watch match but I doubted it cause that was WAY TOO EARLY FOR ME LOL! ( Didn't go to bed till 6am?) Well at 9:15am this girl wakes me up and tells me my phone is ringing off the hook. I tell her so what, leave me alone I'm sleeping. She says but it's xxxx ( she knew the name and knew it was a good buddy of mine ). So I tell her to answer it. She does and hands the phone to me. It was my buddy that was playing in the seniors and had a match at 10am. HE WAS FREAKING THE F OUT!!!!! Said all the other 9 guys he was there with rolled out while he was in the shower and was stuck at the hotel and needed a ride ASAP or was gonna mis his match lol! I told him alright brother I got you!

So I dragged my beat as out of bed, drove 100 mph to his hotel and picked him up. Neither of us knew how to get to the expo from his hotel ( my phone was dead and the car charger I brought wasn't working. We winged it and I got him to his match at 9:57 am lol!!!! All good. Went back to my hotel, had breakfast, busted one off, went back to slea till 2, then got up, got ready and my day at the expo got started round 3:30. Good times!!!
 
Thanks Icon! You were there that time right??? You were probably in one of those two rooms lol!!!
 
One benefit of having the Expo in April. Also, maybe blessed by the pool gods. Meaning, rain on Tuesday to give the place a good cleaning. :-)
