Recently I accidentaly dropped a glob of super glue on my cue, (dont ask how) anyhow, I tried fingernail polish remover but it wont take it off, is there any way to get the super glue off my cue without ruining the finish?

Maybe a stronger acetone.

You could also use a razor blade to scrape most of the drop off and try the nail polish remover again. Just be careful not to scrape the finish.

Well, this is certainly going to test your finesse. About any chemical that you apply to the glue in an attempt to remove it could have an adverse reaction to your finish. This is where your finesse comes in. You are going to have to sand the glue down (and JUST the glue) to the finish level and then polish it out. Should you get carried away and sand through the finish, a couple coats of Krylon clear on the bare spot, polish away the over-spray and you should be done. Padding compound will also cover the bare spot but it is a very thin finish and won't stand much polishing before it's gone. Good Luck, KJ

Uh, yeah, i'd take it to a repair guy or builder to have it evenly removed & blended into the finish. Doing anything finish oriented by hand is tricky stuff. I have pretty dang steady hands, but have NEVER been able to repair or polish ANY spot without my lathe. You could get ok results, but if you want it to be absolutely unnoticeable, get it done professionally.

Thanks for the reply's, I have been to chicken to try anything and Im thinking of just having the cue refinished, I do have a question concerning a refinish, The butt is Signed, and I want to keep the signature, (RAY Shuler) will this be a problem with a refinish?

Id also like to add some weight to the cue, its very light, and Im not crazy about the weight system Schuler has, from a cue makers standpoint what can be done to add weight (basicaly do away with the Schuler weight)?

you can put lead or tungsten down in the butt and fill it in with epoxy.you may have to have the hole drilled out or you may not.
