Hi there,
Milliken Super Pro is a worsted cloth that is made by a Milliken division, Strachan. (pronounced Strawn)
This company has been making billiard cloth for longer than Simonis and has a great base in Europe. Sterling has been selling it for three years and the rooms that use it love it.
Recently we asked one of the action rooms in Chalrotte to put it on their "action" table. This is the table that is double shimmed and is the preferred table when there is any serious money game in the room. The players were not told that the cloth was changed from Simonis. Not only were there no complaints, the consensus was that it is "the perfect speed". The room owner has returned his bolt of Simonis and is going to recover all 15 tables with Milliken Super Pro.
Super Pro cloth is treated with Milliken's Spill Guard process which means it repels liquids and moisture without slowing down the cloth. Only 100%
Merino wool is used in the production of this cloth which is the highest grade of wool available. The cloth is a blend of 70% wool and 30% nylon.
It is currently less expensive than Simonis but that is ONLY because Simonis has raised their prices. When it was introduced it was higher than Simonis because it cost us more then to get it. So for the first two years the cloth did not have much impact against Simonis because the general thought was why switch from a proven brand to an unknown one.
The cloth lasts up to 30% longer than Simonis however. When I say that I mean that it looks good and plays good up to 30% longer. So in the end even if it were slightly more expensive it's a better value. Now we didn't take that 30% claim at face value. We put the cloth up against Simonis at local pool rooms that get a lot of league and casual play. We provided the cloth and monitored the wear and it did in fact hold up longer than Simonis. And in fact most players could not tell which tables had Simonis and which had SuperPro.
So that is your introduction to Milliken SuperPro cloth. It makes it's professional tournament debut at the GenerationPool.com 9-Ball event next week in Charlotte. The company that makes this cloth however has provided the cloth for a lot of the World Snooker Championships in the last 25 years. Not that that means anything for pool cloth, but this company definitely has the experience making cloth that satsifies professional caliber players.
I would like to formally invite all table mechanics to come by and talk to us at the BCA Expo or call us at 704-821-1010. We can tell you all about the cloth and probably work out a sample for those mechanics who are very active.
Thank you for the interest. This ad paid for by Sterling Gaming.
