Without knowing who he was, I ran into him in a little bar in a town called Greensburg just outside of Pittsburgh ( it was the bar that had that " L " shaped pool table )when I was about 14 or 15. Tell your what he was a shooting SOB! I only lost a little to him before I realized I had NO SHOP LOL! When I got back to Bmore Fat Wayne gave me the line on him and just laughed and shook his head.

Don is 81! I bought him in the Calcutta, along with Bob Ogburn. They met in the match to determine who makes the top four and cashes in the Calcutta, so I was pulling for both of them. Bob eked it out and was playing when I left today. Maybe John will let us know who won. He's probably a little busy right now trying to win it himself. :)

I played Billy in the first round and lost 4-1. That was my highlight of the tournament. I found out quick that you better be ready for this crew of oldsters. I was just not well enough prepared. I did win a Bank Pool match yesterday ($$) so I'm not quite dead yet. :rolleyes:

He may have been 6'6 or so at one time, but gravity has taken effect and I would put him at about 6'4 now. :grin:
We roomed together at Ming's pad and it was fun reminiscing about the old days and all the players we both knew. Bob played everybody in his day and barred no one. He had mad respect for Cole Dickson, calling him the most talented player of his generation. Of course he agreed with me (and many others) that Harold Worst was the best he ever saw. He was known as Black Bart back then, that's correct.

In Detroit, at the Rack, they mistakenly knew him as Bob Osborne.....
....Bobby played jam-up snooker on the 5x10....but the cueball was old and worn small...
...he messed up shape on follow position...'cause the ball only wanted to draw...
....he said "I'm gettin' sick and tired of this faggot cueball." :angry: :)
