???? Super soft breaks bartable chmpnshps???

This is no different from the last few years... That's how boxs 9ball is played at their level... if you take the time to learn something that works then you should be allowed to do it and it's within the rules then you should be allowed to do it, regardless if the other player has that ability.

Here it is from last year. Shane vs Skylar.

Frankly, I find it way more impressive to do this rather then crush the rack and hope for a shot.

Personally the break shouldn't be about luck, like every other shot. Thats why its the most important shot and thats why top players practice it religiously. If you want to see crazy pattern racking I suggest you watch Corey Deuel matches at USBTC 8 ball.
Exactly. God forbid someone actually beat someone by skill and not just having lucky breaks. If the opponent doesn't know how to do it then that's their fault.

Does Mike Dechaine ever enter the USBTC? I hardly see him playing any barbox tournaments.

I forget which AZer to credit this to...but it goes something like this:

Barbox 9-ball, Magic Rack, rack-your-own isn't a game...it's a drill.

IMHO it's not about "good vs. bad" or "right vs. wrong". It's just that it's boring to watch. They can play it any way they want; doesn't mean I have to watch it.

That's what it boils down to. People think it's boring to watch.

What's more exciting? Watching SVB throw down a six pack or watching Thorsten slam the rack and break dry?

Unfortunately, neither is all that exciting, at least to me and the millions of viewers that pool doesn't have.

Don't get me wrong, There is a lot of talent displayed by a player putting together a six-pack, but 9 Ball in general is only watchable by the more serious players(skilled and not so skilled).
Overall, I think 9 Ball is a broken game and let's face it, the endless controversy surrounding the rack and the break is the most exciting thing that 9 Ball has going for it these days.
