Super Storm-Typhoon Haiyan

I truly feel for these people,I went through hurricane Hugo and experience first hand the devastation that storm caused, this storm is much stronger and these people can not escape it!:(

I know someone there who has relayed that she and her husband have left home and are in a 2nd floor room at a hotel, hoping this will be good enough to be safe.

I pray that they, and all others in this huge storms path, will be okay.

best,
brian kc

also, based on CNN it is one of the strongest in recorded history, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0v6Gol83F0

what's worse is that it will strike Bohol - the province that was struck by an earthquake just last Oct.15, where at least 200 people were killed and thousands currently live in temporary shelters. it's really sad. :(

I feel so bad for the people who were in the path of this very strong storm. I pray they will be ok. I was also in the direct path of Hurricane Hugo here in Charleston, SC and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. The devastation had to be seen to believe. The eye of the storm crossed right over Charleston where I live. My power was off for over a Month! Can you imagine living without electricity for that long. The storm Haiyan is stronger than what I went through!

It's been off and on light rain where I live, maybe it's the calm before the storm. It' pisses my off, my wife's Mother and Father was to fly here for a visit, he's never been out of Negros. Pick an odd date on the calendar when you expect rainy season to be over? Pal Express said it's on for tomorrow. But my Wife is so tired. She's been cleaning the house like a mad woman in preparation for her parent's arrival, and she still has to go to Manila at 2am local time.

195mph sustained winds can pick you off the ground and drop you off in China. With that kind of pelting, you better be below ground or you might need to find a pair of pliers that can pull a city bus out of your forehead. Then again, with 195mph winds, the storm surge is probably flooding everything.... so.... what do you do?

News is reporting now that the Philippines "avoided a major disaster"....which... means.... they're still #1 in the pool because their pool tables must be safe.
