Just looking for some feedback from those who've tried them. Planning to have one put on my playing cue but have heard they're really hard. Has anybody found them too hard and better suited for a break tip?

I'm used to a fairly hard tip but don't want something water buffalo-like hard.
 
Too hard for some people, just right for some. I use them on my playing cues, and had begun using them as my standard tip on all my customs. But a few people found the hit to be too sharp & hard, so I now use Kamui on cues where people don't want the hardness. It's layered water buffalo & is harder than most any water buffalo tip I have ever used.
 
these tips came on a lot of lower priced (decal) cues from Competition Sports. they seemed to last a long time and I never remember one de-laminating.

the red color turned a lot of potential customers off. I did put a lot of them on housecues in my poolroom. bangers don't even notice if there's a tip or not...lol :D

i had one but i ruined it putting it on myself. still didn't play half bad. i bet if i had had it done by someone who knew what they were doing it would hav eplayed a lot better. they're worth the cas

It's too hard for you if you don't want "something water buffalo-like hard". It is layered water buffalo :) and very, very hard.

After first putting it on I hit a few balls with it and it seemed hard but OK. Too hard to execute a lot of soft spin shots but seemed playable. A few days later I took that shaft to the bar-table league I subbed for thinking it would be really good for bar tables. It was too hard to play with for me and has since been removed fro my shaft. It did break the balls well though.

Too bad they don't come in softer versions, because at that price it would be a nice addition.

But they're cheap enough to try for yourself, just don't buy them from cuemaker03 - I suggest you contact KOINNKID to buy one or two.

I recently, bought a Kamui direct, I had considered the Super Pro, But I wanted something close to a Morri Med, I havent recied any yet, but soon I hope, I cant wait to try Kamui Tips..

My purchase was fast, great communication, a very Pleasant experiance..

I don't know, if there's just one idiot award, you've got some pretty stiff competition here on AZ. Generally there's at least one post per thread highly worthy of that distinction.

I tried one of the kamui mediums on my paying cue & it lasted about two hours & was cut off. It's a great tip, good control & surprisingly I could go way off center without miscue. Speed was easy to judge & control, and spin was easy to control. The only drawback for me was the medium feel. I really prefer a rock hard feel & the kamui didn't have it. That said, it did perform at a surprisingly high level of control & comfort. It's a perfect tip for folks who like the control & spin of a hard tip without the sharp punchy feel a hard tip gives.

I have only used two tips that I thought were better tips, and one was a custom made tip & the other is the old school WB brand water buffalo, before the "chip out" crap began. Neither of these tips are commercially available, so i'll go as far to say I think the kamui is the best tip on the open market.
 
I personally liked the tip. It does take a couple of racks to get used to, but it will do everything other tips do as far as spin goes; and it won't mushroom. If you like a hard hit, you'll like the tip. Mine was on a murrell, and it played great. My advice, try it for yourself. Nobody knows what you like better than you, and it won't cost that much to find out. Good luck!
 
Superpro tips

I put one on my player about a month ago. I didn't like it at first, but I was used to a sniper. After two weeks of playing with it, I really like the way it plays in conjuction with my very stiff shaft. I have to be alot more accurate with my english to do what I want, but that has inturn sharpened my stroke quite a bit. Just my .02...
