Hey gang,
This past Saturday I went to Surf City Billiards, Santa Cruz, California and what a nice place to play.
15 GC IV's, the best equipment :)
House cues kind of OK, beer is good and cold and food is very good as well.
On the middle of the pool room there is a big screen tv setup like you usually see on a regular NBA game, about 4 or 5 big hd screens in a round format giving to everybody in the room a good look on what is going on TV.
Doug, the owner is a young guy, early 30's I think, and he is awesome to chat with. The room also has a nice lounge with very comfy sofas and a couple of darts targets as well.
The place is very open with a very high ceiling and lots of room to play. Personally I think I would have left at least 1 more foot separating each pool table.
Overall an awesome pool room with a very clean feel to it.
The pool room was also featured on the latest Billiards Digest Edition on the Top 10 pool rooms in the country. They have a 9 ball tourney on Tuesdays.

I gave a local guy a lesson in that room 3 years ago. It was not called Surf City Billiards then, and the owner was not a young guy. Must have sold since then.

You must read the pdf file on the attached link on he first post. That place was never a pool hall, so I am not sure what do you mean.
 
Looks like a great place...although that pink table is herrendous. I have a certain friend that would absolutely go nuts over it, but I hate it. I will have to check it out if I ever venture down that direction.

I second you on that. That black table with pink cloth is kind of nasty :yikes:
