I needed a pc. of old dark brown wood for a set of J/ps . I have a bunch of old 1 pc. cues so I picked one where the points were about a inch off , and surprise surprise on what was inside .

Nice...usually when I start hacking away at old house cues I find ugly surprises not gems.

My Carom King was the same way. Old brown oxidized wood. Turned very purple when a pass was taken!
