If Mike Plays Jason,I'll take Mike all day long.I would consider Mike the favorite, not just on the pool aspect but on the theatric aspect as well.

I think Mike would get in his head and never move out.

NJ is on the way home.... he should stop by... I am sure Pat could hook something up on the 10 ftr for Accu-stats... would be quite a little road trip for Mike.

I think Mike needs to end the road trip on a positive note but
would be a neat match to watch:smile:

Shane looks acts, plays and practices like a pro should. Mike appears to be another Great player living off the Fat. Shane keeps working and improving, Mike appears to be just another player making ends meet, tho I can't blame em. There's really no structure/tour or lifes dream that can be fulfilled by going from tournament to tournament and many pros realize this once they have risen to the top. Until there is structure, Very few players will treat our sport like SVB or a few others workin' this tough road of life.

Doesn't Dechaine work a full time job?

I agree, though, Shane's attitude to the game is supremely professional and it shows in his play and in his results.

lol you guys kill me, this forum is legit like the SVB fan club... there are like 10 guys in the world who can compete with SVB on this table playing 10 ball and be even money. I hate to say this because I love shanes break and respect how hard he worked to get it to where it is but if u switched to 9 ball there is like 40 guys in the world who are even money playing SVB. Listen the guy is great but people seem to forget the times he got his heart shot out like everytime he plays Busty, Dennis... or the ruthless beating Earl laid down on him playing on the 10 footer, the list goes on and on. The guy is amazing but people hold him to a ridiculous level.

Are you talking about that circus table? Was it like when they played on the 9ft and Shane won by a score of 100 to 60?

Now your thinking. I would take Mike in this , but it could easily go the other way.

Also you go get them 10 other players and the Cash and they can get played.

That is a BS arguement.

Any backer with any comprehension of economics and odds knows that if they are paying their player 50% of a win that their player needs to be a 2-1 favorite before the backer is making an "even" bet on his own money because if he is putting up $10,000 he is only possibly going to make $5000 or lose the full $10,000 while the pro freerolls with the other $5k.

Of course most pool players will do that, I am sure if some backer jumped up and said "Mike Dechaine I want to back you for $10,000 against anyone in the world!!!" then Mike would say "uhh, ok, sure, I will play anyone..."

Not to mention anyone who wants to play Shane has pretty much without fail had to come to the USA to get into these big set up matches. SVB has gone to PI on occasion, and when he does he does get played. If he ever wanted to take a backer and himself over to Taiwan for a couple months and tour that circuit I am sure some of the rich people in that area of the world would be happy to throw a Yang or a Chang or a Wu at SVB and see how much he likes it.

And SVB himself has already said, it is hard playing in another country with different food and with the time change and all. So great

"SVB will play anyone, bring em!"

"well they want to play for $50,000 in Taiwan"

"Nuh uhh, gotta be America, SVB gets the wrong kind of runs in Taiwan..."

I remember a couple years ago in Vegas during the APA tournament. The Canadians were going broke betting against Shane. Everyone knew their player couldn't win but them

Also you go get them 10 other players and the Cash and they can get played. Shane has already said they have a game when they want one. Problem is they don't like their chances when the cash is on the light. My.02

ok except Shane openly admits hes afraid to play dennis for his own money..

I said it before the match. Shane is going to make a point with this match. When Shane has a clear mind for pool, he can not be beat.

I'm just sitting here enjoying the SVB era of pool. Whether you think he's the best or not, every other player is compared to Shane. What does that usually mean????????????????????

best,

Justin

I'd say it's relative to the nationality of those having the discussion. Americans compare people to Shane, Phillipinos compare people to Dennis, Taiwanese to Chang, Brits to Daz, etc.

Shane is the best American player right now, but he still has a lot of competition when it comes to being the best in the world.

I missed this match as my girlfriend was moving apartment, but from what I've heard it sounds as though Shane was in that demon/machine/killer runout mode of his. That's always pretty incredible to see. His high gear playing 10 ball is frightening once that break starts working.
