Seems like Shane is doing more fishing and golf than pool. Looks kike he's not doing the West coast swing either. I get it, all work and no play gets old. Maybe he's just a little burned out on pool, or scared of Dennis O. :p. Maybe he's sick of the Mosconi Cup...I would be. Johnnyt

Sooner or later. One of the three will kill this party.

1. Girl
2. Fishing
3. Other (Golf, boredom etc)

He eats what he kills and thus can do as he pleases.
 
Its getting old

If SVB is getting sick of the Mosconi Cup, he's not alone. It just isn't interesting anymore and I don't think it will be until we get more players at or near SVB's level.
 
If the South Dakota Kid created more action.....
...he could combine his love for pool AND fishing. :cool:

I'm not saying the MC is the best event, but it is definitely the most entertaining.
 
Shane is an elite pro. He will have guaranteed entrance to almost any event that "requires" qualifying, even if he plays only a few tournaments per year.

He's like the elite golfers. They skip many of the mid sized tournaments, and focus only on the majors.

That, IMO, is what Shane has decided to do.
 
Shane just played at The Big Dogs Billiards 1p and bigfoot 10b event in Iowa a couple weekends ago.

I'd imagine he'll be at the US Open 8b and 10b at the end of July. Too bad its played on 7ft tables.

What?? The US Open 8 & 10 Ball event is being played on 7' tables? What a sham.
Incomprehensible. Should be called the Mini US Open.

If there was a no-name one-off tournament in the continental united states with a purse for the winner of anything north of $10,000.00, not only would Shane be there, but every vulture on the hemisphere. But it seems this is not likely to happen.

Im almost tempted to start up a general fund that would allow people to donate to it for the sole purpose of having a single tournament each year. Single elimination race to 3 any game we pull out of the hat on the day of the tournament at the table. It'd be like the Pool version of Daytona where they all run out to their cars and get under way. Pull a game out of the hat and play it till there is a winner. Makes more about luck than anything else and gives every player the ultimate excuse. "Oh well, straight pool... I haven't played that in 400 years and my opponent was using too much pine tar on his cue ball."

I think I would only want to pay out to like 10 places though. Gives people something more to complain about and shake their fist at. I love pool players.

Shane is a master at cue ball control. If anything, a 7' table is to his advantage.

Shane plays pool for a living. It's a job to him. Nothing wrong with taking time off from work to do something you enjoy, is there?

Or maybe SVB is one of the few US pool players with more than half a brain and he no longer needs pool to make a living, investments maybe... perhaps now it's about quality of life.
