Svb insane call shot on the 10 for the win!!

This is a perfect example of the difference between WPA rules (which I'm gong to assume they were playing by) and the so called WPA+ rules.

Had they been playing by the WPA+ rules he never would have called that shot but probably would have played safe instead.

One of the ironic things about the idea of 10 Ball taking the luck out of 9 Ball is that you end up with some of these long-shot "just in case" calls that when they do go in are mostly luck.

It takes a great deal of talent to be that 'lucky'. You're correct. Someone 'dealt' out the talent & SVB was 'lucky'. He got dealt the talent AND he knows how to use the talent that he has been dealt. Lucky him.

All right that is it! I will have to watch this when I get home from work. Unless you're all rick-rolling the unaware :p

The better you are the luckier you will be and/or seem to be in pool. You have to be real good to even make that hit to give yourself a chance to make the 10 ball.

Exactly. The nay-sayers who think it was all luck don't quite understand what Danny DiLiberto always says. You gotta be GOOD ENOUGH to get a chance to be lucky.

Sick sick sick!! To some extent it was funny!! One of the most amazing shot I've seen on competition.

If you liked that one, you'll definitely love this one, too, by SVB:

This was in July of this year, and against the SAME OPPONENT. Poor Alex, haha. He brings out the fast&loose in Shane

Most of the "great" shots you see are flukes, but that's what I call a great shot. He planned it so carefully and obviously that you could see exactly what he wanted to do - and then he did it perfectly.

Even better than the shot was the fact that he thought of it.

P.S. The way he planned the rail-first combo was worth noting. He used his shaft to measure where the mirror image of the 8 ball would be on the rail and then aimed the 1 ball at that mirror image to make the rail-first carom to the 9.

Although he called it I think he was leaning more toward safety. Note where he left the cue ball and where he kicked the ball too. He knew he had a chance though. No doubt he seen the possibility....great looking shot, he's a beast! The announcers went ctazy

agreed...

Great shot & more need for accuracy but the jump 2 rail kick is more exciting in terms of the visual. IMHO

that Tunica shot was 100% skill....Japan shot was 90% skill 10% luck....either or...when you see players of any caliber pull a Babe Ruth, its always something to remember. I've had only 3-4 shots in my whole lifetime that I've called and made and they were on the same amount of ridiculousness as this one. Glad that these were at least caught on video instead of being a shot you only read or hear about.
