In the late 80s-90s Bastrop could hold his own with anyone in the state. He placed well in several pro events. I believe his wife was an excellent player as well at least on barboxes. Not sure if she was Jr.'s mom? Some terrific pool genes in that family for sure.

SVB came back and won the tournament as i recall reading. I wish The Finals would be posted of this tournament. There are some other great matches from this channel also. Chip Compton takes down Brandon Shuff is another good match.

Not true at all.
In this video, SVB made more mistakes, that is why he lost.
I think its true cause the conditions made it better for him.The kid played very
well and was great win for him no matter what table they were on.

My point was that the gap closes among players as the table gets smaller
and the pockets get bigger.

Dear Maniac--

I met James Davis Jr. this fall. He seems a very nice young man and he plays strong pool. But to confirm your suspicion about SVB's physical condition during the match, take a look at 16:00 and tell me if you would want to back a player who was holding his head in the position SVB is holding his while Davis is breaking!

Exactly my point sir. Nice catch!!!

Not much respect for the bar table around here I see.

While I agree that the bar table can be a bit of an equalizer, it still takes tremendous talent to beat someone like SVB on one. This guy played great pool and I'm sure it was a very satisfying victory.

I take it a lot of players on this forum NEVER play on bar tables right??? Why would you? All of your victories would be so meaningless. What would be the point?

I would be happy to beat SVB on a Fischer Price table. :)

exactly. give the guy some credit. Of course SVB is the superior player overall, but Jr practically played flawless- made basically only 1 error in the entire match- scratching on the break

I watched that match awhile back. JR shot lights out against the top player in the world. Who in their right mind would try and say otherwise?

I would enjoy seeing the naysayers match up against SVB on any size table so we could make a thread about you. Imagine the fun.

hardly think anybody is actually trying to insinuate that the guy is higher speed than SVB, but you can't deny that he still played great... gotta give some credit where it's due lol

or James for that matter.

If anyone would like to play James some we will be at the Music City Open and Derby City Classic in a few weeks. He a great guy and good action. All levels welcome.

If you don't like that game you can play Brandon some. :D

While the guy did out play him in the end... SVB is ranked where he is for a reason.

Everyone has an off day. Personally how unsteady James' stroke was was kind of irritating me when watching. But he didn't miss, so I guess I can't realistically say anything.

Having just come back from where he did and facing the son of a guy who beat him twice in one match I think he might have been a little psyched out? But he still played great.

Nulled vote.

Please People, No one in world is Lining Up to play SVB on a bar box.
A lot Of talk, Put up the money and he will put it in his Bank after the
match!

Actually I have a standing offer to play SVB on a barbox, even, for a whole flock of Geese. He hasn't agreed to play.

The only stipulation is that he plays in Manchester,Tn at Jonathan Pinegar's room Lucky Break.
