The score was 30 to 22.

Jesse plays fast & loose and Shane plays methodicaly, precisely and with careful process oriented play. He got out when he wasn't supposed to and that's what won the match.

It was a night of really great pool playing and I'm beat. This ole fart hasn't been up this late in a LOONNNGGG time. :D

Got to meet several az'rs and reall enjoyed that. I'm not going to mention their names because I'll forget some sure as hell and I don't want to lose the new friends I just met. I will say that they were very nice to talk to I'll look forward to seeing any/all of them again. (covered my butt pretty well there don't ya think? :D )

I gotta hit the rack. I drove 3 1/2 hrs each way and I'm toast, but I'm still wired!!

There was a match of interest to the forum members. I made a short report about it.

If you don't want to read it then don't open it. Why be a smart as$ and waste your time responding.

This site should be called "SVB-BILLIARDS"

Yeah because he is the ONLY one MAKING news these days in pool. SVB is the great US hope in the near future.

I LIKE reading about Shane and his accomplishments.

I definatley agree. He is the only one making news and he is beating EVERYBODY.

The main subject on here for a looong time was Efren, he was winning everything and beating everybody badly. And, although he still can if he wanted to, he has not done anything lately. So, the focus seems to be on someone actually doing something worth reading.

There are alot of threads I dont read on here. For example, I dont read any of the threads where everyone gets to arguing about trivial things and making innappropriate comments, or just saying something to get an argument going.

One thing is for sure, I read everything that is SVB related and anything that has to do with the enhancement of the sport we all love. SVB seems to be something extremely refreshing to watch, read or hear about in the world of mens professional pool.

From what I read, Jess missed one ball in the 22 games he won.

Jess' downfall was the scratches on the break. That could result in as much as a 3 game swing (the 1 one Jess didn't win on his break, the one SVB won on Jess' break, and the one SVB probably won off his next break).

I believe Jess scratched on 3-4 breaks. Thats a minimum of a 6-8 game swing, which happens to be the difference in the score.

I'm not making excuses for Jess, just pointing out what I think the difference was last night.

BTW, I counted 2 misses by SVB...not that 2 misses in 52 games is less than stellar. Between them, they missed 3 balls in 52 games.

That's 3 misses in probably ~325-350 shot attempts(!)...a 99% success rate.

but based on what i saw the last time.. all those topics seem to be the same.. everything svb vs corey LOL

it was a thrashing, 99% is not unusual for top class bar table pool

and why was the bar box specialist scratching so often?

just couldn't deal with Shane's game, period

Shane out played Jesse but.....

Jesse did get some bad rolls, like scratching on the break a couple times late in the match and at least one other bad roll scratch where he made a great kick shot to pocket a ball and have the cb go 3 rails and scratch. The shot required lots of english, as I remember and it was just a bad roll that it went long and scratched.

Anyway. It was a great match and I think I used the wrong words in the thread title. It was 3 in the am and I was crispy or I wouldn't have use the "can of whup a$$" phrasing. Jesse didn't deserve those rather harsh words. I regret that.

jim, thanks for the thread, i like to read about SVB he is a great guy and i firmly believe in him and his future-however he needs to move up the ladder at the right pace, which he has been doing perfectly. Playing Archer right now wouldnt be good for him.

flyod mayweather had all the goods years ago in boxing and his handlers brought him up not to fast or too slow and he is the best boxer in the world, we all saw it years ago but if you put young talent up against someone too tough it can be a big set back for them, i know floyd-i own a boxing radio show.

SVB is similar to floyd he is the future but his decisions now will determine if he will last and molding his psyche now is key, Joe here will butcher me for this cause i cant spell it right, but shane must play very hard games he can win so he gets used to winning all the time and in 3 more years watch out!!!!!

So when

you said they missed 3 shots total, that is not counting pushouts or safeties, right? What about kicks? You're just talking straight shots???
