SVB v justin Cone

Thanks for the updates. I was watching this last night but had to head to bed at 1am (EST) before the 1st game was over.

I didn't think he'd win that one.

Svb Wins

Thanks. I watched for about 10 games or so. After he first 6 games, I thought Shane had no shot but when I went to sleep he was 2 up and was getting out when he had an open shot, which I figured was his only chance to win.

My wife had a hard time listening to Frost and Chohan commentate, they were brutal. If there is a DVD made, I hope Shane and Cone don't watch it.

That Cone kid came through Denver last year. He played Mark Haddad and won.

He plays this goofy game where he'll shoot the cue ball out of his mouth, at least thats what I heard, I never saw him do that.

Alex,
I didn't get to hear all the commentary but I heard enough. The one comment that struck me as the farthest off is when, I think billy I & scott were on the subject of how long before shane could be a top one-holer. I believe it was said "that if he were to be around, work with, or get the benefit of their knowledge for a year or two he would play a ball below them.....I laughed out loud....I thought more like two weeks boys.........:)

I think that was Chohan and Frost. Billy didn't get there till around 4am Eastern time.

I didn't mind when they made actual commentary, even the above, but when they thought Shane was going to lose, they were harsh. They had money on Shane. For a while there (right after the time you're talking about), all they did was whine about how they were in a bad bet and they were going to lose their money. They (not for sure but I think it was Chohan) called Jason an idiot on one shot.

I was really looking forward to hearing these two top one pocket players comment on the game, but it was hard to listen to about half the time. Although I have to admit that I learned a few things from them also, fairly basic stuff that I didn't know. And, I felt good when they chose the shot that I would have tried, that happened more than I figured it would.

Can't wait for tonight, I think Shane will beat Hennessy badly.

He does, it looks rather unnatural btw. I played him 8 ball that way and I am a horrible player. We broke even, but I quit because I think he was going to beat me that way.

It sounds unnatural. messy too.

Alex,
I wish the commentary was more focused on the table but I realize it is a voluntary endevour on their part. And I guess when you have beginners in the booth and they have ego's as big as the pumkin guys belly allittle ego stroking is to be expected...:)

Tony and Scott are in everyones American "Top 5". For Shane to get the same respect as though two + Shanon and Cliff- I think it will be a year.
