In Shane's defense, I believe he had just returned from a short Phillipines trip. 20 hour flight there, stay a few days for pool, 20 hour flight back, and play in Turning Stone. IMHO, that more than anything contributed to his poor showing.
No one is saying he's perfect. The kid has off days. But any one who wants to argue him being the current best, can think on this.
The kid always has to give up weight of some kind. Always have to give odds when betting on Shane. Always he choked here or there, which means he should have won.
So, what is it? You can't have it both ways. Bottom line, the kid is the CURRENT best, and by all signs will continue to be. He hardly ever drinks, he stays in good shape, he practices all the time, and he only gets more confident every day. The kid is an animal on the table!
I don't know about yall, but when it comes to these long races, I look at pool like boxing. Shane holds the belt. I don't care if Alex won the 2 before that, Shane is now. Easy for me. But we'll see what the rematch brings, good stuff.
