i think its ppvWhere are they streaming these? YouTube?
SVB works on his break two hrs a day and these goofy ass rules make the shot irrelevant. Total joke. There is a post on the Sharks Facebook page that indicates Biado won 90-79. You may have to take that with a measure of salt!
I cannot get into it. Never thought I’d be bored watching Dennis and SVB play. I love when they match up. But when they played the other week, I couldn’t power through the break rules and watch.SVB works on his break two hrs a day and these goofy ass rules make the shot irrelevant. Total joke.
As I argued in the other thread, the break is not irrelevant at all in this format. The break only becomes ‘irrelevant’ if your safety play is inferior.SVB works on his break two hrs a day and these goofy ass rules make the shot irrelevant. Total joke.
Are you high A guy makes a good break, pockets a ball and is not allowed to run out?? If you want to watch this shit go ahead. Me and a bunch of others think its a total joke. Because it is. They made these lame rules up so their streams will last longer for their advertisers. They(sharks) have made it clear that the B-N-R's do not appeal to them. Thankfully these lame rules are only used here.As I argued in the other thread, the break is not irrelevant at all in this format. The break only becomes ‘irrelevant’ if your safety play is inferior.

so the guy coming to the table has a chance to runout but the guy breaking doesnt?
Yes. Sounds stupid as hell when you say it out loud. On one of the earlier matches was the first time i saw this. I was like, "WTF are they playing?" In the chat they made it pretty clear their reasons. The players are getting paid either way so they don't really care unless there's big side-money. I can't picture too many wanting to gamble this way unless they have a crazy stakehorse.so the guy coming to the table has a chance to runout but the guy breaking doesnt?
No.Are you high
Yup, that's the rules. What exactly are you confused about?A guy makes a good break, pockets a ball and is not allowed to run out??
You don't have to like the format. No one is forcing that you should. If you want to watch this shit go ahead. Me and a bunch of others think its a total joke. Because it is. you have a weak mental game tooNo.

My argument remains that the break is still a factor in this format. What this format does is exposes who has the weaker safety/tactical/mental game. Too bad if it shows that SVB is weaker than DO and Biado in at least one of those areas.
Good one.you have a weak mental game too
Well he's playing for them so u can't expect him to crap all over his paycheck. As I was poking around Sharks FB page to confirm the final score of SVB/Biado...I stumbled upon one BCA Hall of Famer's opinion on the format. I guess the Rocket has a 'weak mental game' too...

You do understand that you don't have to push out after the break. You can still play a safety. Isn't it easier to play a safety when you see a full ball? Of course. Therefore, the better breaker still has an advantage.Well he's playing for them so u can't expect him to crap all over his paycheck.
I guess Shane will start working 2hrs a day on breaking dry with an awkward cueball placement so his opponent has to push instead of him.

No horse in the race, but do they play 3 foul? I would think a player like Corey could find a way to be king of the table over there. 1. Soft break while making a ball -he could figure that out. 2. Don't spread the balls. 3. Do what you wish with BIH *(Profit)*.You do understand that you don't have to push out after the break. You can still play a safety. First off, I also have no 'horse in the race'. If some think I'm degrading Shane, I'm not. I love SVB. Best thing American pool has to offer the past two decades and counting. I also mentioned in the other thread that I don't think this format should be the dominant format for 9/10-ball. I still prefer the traditional rules (mainly because of its faster pace and easier viewing), but I also don't mind seeing variety in the rules...especially if certain formats showcase certain strengths and/or exposes certain weaknesses in one's game.No horse in the race...
Not sure if there is a 3-foul rule, but my best guess is that there is....but do they play 3 foul?
The problem that I see with soft breaking and purposely creating clusters is that you would still have to navigate the clusters. It would be much easier to execute an effective break and hope for an open spread and a clear shot on the lowest ball (which is the same goal with traditional rules). Then with a clear path to the lowest ball execute an effective safe. If you play a good safe, you'll have a high probability of running out in your next turn at the table given that the table is wide open table. If there are clusters remaining, then you'll most likely have to give up control of the table...in which anything can happen.I would think a player like Corey could find a way to be king of the table over there. 1. Soft break while making a ball -he could figure that out. 2. Don't spread the balls. 3. Do what you wish with BIH *(Profit)*.
I'd like to see this motivate Shane to raise his safety game. I'm sure the 1P is helping.
