I was thinking it was Chad Pollman aka "Big Nasty" -founding partner of TAR
and longtime friend of Shane's.

It was funny when he called for Dennis to come up the second time and he had already left. It was also funny when Alex reacted to the name drawn in the raffle as though he had won, tricking the young girl who didn't know who he was as he went over and high-fived her. She was like "No way!" Ha! She didn't seem to find it as amusing as I did though. Perhaps she's been the butt of one joke too many.
This made me laugh out loud. I agree that the audio was terrible. I heard the commentating just fine but Barry would fade in and out. It was a pleasure to watch that caliber of pool. Congrats to Shane and Dennis.

As several posters mentioned Shane was talking about Chad "Big Nasty" Pollman. Chad took Shane around to tournaments when he was a teenager and was always in his corner. He also made sure if Shane's head ever started getting a little big he would remind him to focus on what was important.
I saw several times where Shane would be in a slump or down about something and Chad would be right there to motivate him. I know how much that can mean because Chad did the same for me over the years. Its rare to know that no matter what you have someone that has your back. Chad was like that for Shane and several others.
As soon as Shane won the first thought in my mind was that somewhere Nasty was smiling.
