SW on eBay

When we talk about rings lining up, what exactly are we refering to? Lining up above & below the wrap? Lining up with each other on the double butt? Or lining up with the points?

I have a SW style DPK where 1 shaft lines up perfect, one lines up opposite. I've heard this junk about the rings lining up before, but never believed it. Would be surprised if it was true.
 
Correct Me If Im Worng But How Many Southwests Have You Seen With The Rings Lined Up? And How Many Ofsset Exactly To The Middle Of The Opposite Next Ringwork? Maybe Im Blind I Dont Know!

that is what i was thinking.i was told about them being off cneter to each other by a collector who lives here in nashville and his good freinds with laurie.he has 76 SW cues,but that doesn't really mean he is right.

everyone i have ever paid attention to though had the lined up with veneer or slot to the center of the billet on the next ring.not talking about the joint rings though.

i can't believe they don't make any effort to line them up or not line them up.just slap them on.i mean i believe you,but it is surprising.

That's something in the neighborhood of $140,000 in SW's.
 
probably more b/c he has a few fancy ones.he is shooting for 100.it seems like he has 2 of everyone they have made.seriuosly i know they have made lots of different designs,but he has alot of the basic cues they make.i have gotten him a few rare ones over the years,but most of the time when i tell him,"i can get 6 points x into y forearm with z veneers for $2000.",he seems to alreay have it.


i know there are many SW's with the big hole in the pin,but i always that since the mid 80's or so they had a smaller hole than that one.

No kidding they've gotten pretty lucky if they paid no attention to them.
Mine line up like this

The A B rings above and below wrap line up and the one on the butt line up with the ones on the joint and those two sets are Offset exactly to the middle of the opposite next ring work, perfectly. Even the shaft and the joint protectors line up. Thats some pretty lucky sheeeeeet there:grin:
 
i was referring to the slashes in the rings linging up!!!! please post pics if the ringes are aligned!!!! not thinkin the shaft! i mean consecutive rings on the butt! all i have ever seen were offsett almost perfectly in the middle!
