Swamp People

That's a crocodile, just FYI. :grin-square:

Yep...the narrow snout is the give away, along with the exposed lower teeth.

Gators are found in freshwater, typically living amongst vegetation. Crocs are found in brackish saltwater, such as estuaries. Gators are typically smaller. The largest gator ever caught and killed was back in the 1890's and it 19.2 feet in length. Crocs can get to be upwards of 23 feet in length. Crocs are also much, much more aggressive than gators.

Another interesting fact: To estimate the size of an alligator, you measure the length from the tip of the nose to the eyes in inches, and the alligator is that many feet long. With crocodiles you measure the length from the heel to the longest toe of the hind foot in inches, and that is the length of the crocodile in feet.

I do know T-Mike but I haven't seen him in a while.But I will sure ask him when I see him.Maybe I can get some gator meet.

When i first saw an episode with him in it I didn't even recognize him until the 2nd or 3rd time I heard his name,T-Mike.

good name!

Named him Snappy!

We lost all three gators when their tank they stayed in when we were not playing with them tipped over in a hurricane. A year or two later I was playing some kind of a war game. Most of our house was 18 inches off of the ground and I rounded a corner and rolled quickly under the house to hide. Three or four quick rolls and I stopped facing deeper under the house, nose to nose with one of the gators a few inches away. You know their tendency when something is thrust at them, I'm sure you didn't name yours Snappy for nothing. I spun out from under the house even faster than I had spun under it!

A few years before I had met an old dairy farmer. He called me over to his stock pond. There was a large fence post set deep into the ground and a huge log chain headed from it into the pond. He started calling and shaking the chain a little and over 12 foot of gator came up to him. He squatted down and started scratching it under the jaw. I backed off wondering just how long the chain was! I didn't figure me and the gator were buddies and I wasn't pushing my luck. The farmer said I could pet him too but I looked a little too much like lunch to a gator that size for comfort. I don't remember exactly now but the farmer had kept the gator for 20-30 years raising him from a fairly safe size and had remained friendly with him.

They don't use Skeeter spray down there, the secret is Skin So Soft Lotion, I forget what company makes it but it is a cosmetic company. When I was stationed at Ft. Polk, we use to spend alot of time training in the Swamp and nothing works better than Skin So Soft Lotion, and you kinda smell good too!!!!!!!!:D

I think it is made be Avon --- check with your wife she can probably knows the local Avon lady.
