Great!

WOW! sweet! i get into this kind of thing. i think it's a good idea to share with the azer's how you did these, what camera was used, film, f-stop, exposure time ect...

man the last time i was in a tournament and things looked like that i was drinking jack daniels, i wodner if i won:confused:

Haha Dave I was looking at it and thinking...hey, I know that room!

Nice pix, and who won last night btw? No offense but I don't think I'm gonna go down for a while...it takes way too long to wait for my turn and it's cold in there too!

thanks,
ray

I use a Nikon D50, these were shot with two different lenses. Either a 50mm f1.8 or a Nikkor 28-80mm. Tripod, time of exposure between 4 and 30 seconds, f/stop between 13 and 22. You can get some really cool effects. I think they came out really well, I actually have about 40 more that I didn't post.

Oh yeah, ray- everett won.
Peaceout-
Thanks for looking, hope ya liked 'em,

crawdaddio.....

i love these, but i have to say, i think something is lost when you switch to color. all that nice elusive imagery gets buried in all that color.

but what's it doing in cue gallery???:):)

I didn't know where else to post them. Ya think I should put 'em in the main forum?

I like the ones that show the breaks and that fourth one looks like it has a ghost a the head of the middle table. Very cool pics, David.

Very nice!! Right now I'm using a Canon 20D. Can't decide on the 24-70mm f/2.8 L or the new one...28-105mm f/4 IS L

When I get some time, I'll set up the tripod and try to duplicate the effects that you got.

That all depends... what will you use more? A 'pod or not? I've got the 28-135 IS and that stabilizer comes in handy quite a bit. Not sure if I could handle the 2lb or whatever it is for the extra stop, nor the $1000+.

Nice photos :)

The IS is a great tool but the constant aperture of 2.8 throughout makes the pics that much better...

arghh.....why can't I have $3,000 so I can just both?!?! :(

no color +

I LOVE B+W and sepia photos. That being said, I really like the color in the previous shots just as well. It gives the shots a certain 'depth' to them that I think is less reminiscent (sp?) and more real. Here's an *off topic* photo.

Kinda looks like a bunch of ghosts playing some in a haunted room, or maybe angels in heaven. Since we all know pool players don't go to heaven I'll stick with the ghosts.

Awesome Pics

The only thing you're missing is me! Wanted to be there but no mula, hopefully this week. I'm outta skool and I'm trying to play more. Just can't get used to the bigger tables yet. It'll come though. I took a photography class last year and it was cool.Photography is great. Have a good one Dave. I'll get you a Scrimshaw Sunday, Lata.

you would want to use a stabilized lens and no tripod for a timed exposure where you are wanting to show movement?

i don't understand what you mean. why does the constant aperture make the pics better?
