All,

I just have a quick question.

Without pointing out any particular Barry Szamboti cues, etc....I would just like to know on the used market what a Barry cue costs? Not a fancy one...just your basic 4 point Szam with two straight shafts.

Thanks,

Matt

I would be interested as well... not that I have the funds but I have not seen many come up for sale - of course there had been Barry Szams for sale, but those were on the fancy or fancier side...

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

On my own experience, if you can still find one for $4500 you will have done well. I would probably think the majority of plain 4 pointers are at $5000+ now.

PS.....anyone with a Barry at $4000 - $4500....please give me a holler:smile:

The market

In order to determine the market you need to see where buyers are in and sellers are out...

I would be all in @ 4K as a buyer and willing to sell at 6K for a plain four pointer with four veneers and two shafts - assuming all is straight and up to par.

BTW my BID is firm and will take all that is out there at that level. PM me if you are a seller!!!! to see if I am real

To see where the real market is .. people would need to be willing to offer higher bids and lower sells (assuming they have the cue to sell).

My BS will never be for sale ... just means too much to me.

Basic Szam

i doubt there are too many sellers for "basic" szams hence the price point is a tough call ...

if you add the ivory diamonds and dots, you are probably looking at 7,500 for a clean cue ...

a true basic plain jane is a rarity and i doubt you will find any sellers since most would already be owned by the end user ...

once you get to the ones with a little ivory, you may find a few with dealers and they would hardly ever let them go below 7,000.-

but assuming you could find one, i think they would be anywhere from 4,500 - 5,500 depending on the condition and they would all be probably well used ...

on the other hand, things are pretty tough out there right now .. i guess if you were at the right place, at the right time, you could get lucky :)

the search is always fun :)
