I have had a very good 2005 and am very thankful for the cues I was able to acquire. I also want to thank the AZ'ers that have bought cues from me so I could buy some of these beauties. The Gus and Barry Szamboti cues are my favorites, not just for obvious reasons but, because I bought them from a friend of mine who can no longer play and he wanted me to have them. The order goes...3 Black Boar, 2 Hercek, G.S.,B.S., and Runde....Happy Holidays

Great cues

I still don't have a flat faced ivory Hercek. Love the 3rd black boar. nice job with the collection. I think Hercek made one other cue similar to the Ebony one you have. They were somewhat of a pair (none are exactly the same)

Nice Herceks, the one with scrimshaw used to be mine. If you want to part with the flat faced Hercek let me know.

Hey Sebas, thanks for the compliments...I really like both of the six pointed BB's. The one in the middle is quite beautiful in person...the low points are actually three points in one...ebony, rosewood, and ebony....my pic don't really do any of them justice.

You must really know alot about Hercek cues...I just got an email from Mr. Hercek today and he told me basically the same thing...I guess this one was made in 1997...it is 59 inches with 30 inch shafts. I didn't know this till I got the cue...I thought it would kinda bother me but I really like the way its balanced...I got the hoppe Hercek mostly because of the flat faced ivory joint...it has a wonderful sound and soft feel....I have never had a cue with no bumper before...Mr Hercek told me he could put a bumper on it but I think I may lose that beautiful sound....what do think...does anyone know? It may not make any difference...

I remembered seeing this cue in your ebay auctions I thought...I know you had a few others as well...I was told this cue was made for a guy in Germany...Mr Hercek told me, at the time, it was the fanciest engraving he'd ever done...I know it doesn't compare to some of the stuff I've seen on Dr. Wu's site...but I think it's very tasteful. Did you have this cue refinished? Joel told me he thought it had been...I hope not...but I can't go wrong either way...thanks for the offer on the hoppe cue...I plan on keeping it though...I personally have never seen another flat faced ivory joint of his...he said he doesn't do many.

The scrimmed Hercek was refinished. Joel made it for a chap in Germany, he then sold it to a dealer in the U.S. The cue was refinished by Proficient Billiards (a very nice job too) and I bought it shortly after. Bill Grassley bought it from me and sold it to the other person on this thread. A beautiful cue for sure. Its also in the color section of the 2nd Blue Book, centre cue.

I thought I remembered the Hercek. I was attempting to buy it on one of the auctions that UGOTDA7 had posted but it slipped away. Maybe another day for a gem like that.

Very nice collection where I wish I had some nice gems like yours.

BTW - the flat faced joint cue is the odd one in your pictures.
Send it either my way or to UGOTDA7 so you have nothing but piloted joints.

Later!

As was stated above, it has been refinished by Proficient. I found out after the fact when I listed it on Ebay a while back, not that it really matters (in my opinion) as it was expertly done. Proficient has some pictures of it during the refinish, you may want to contact them and see if they can share them with you.

Yoz Si~

I actually bought this cue from you two years ago. This is the first transaction we did and you shipped the cue to my apartment in NYC.
I then sold it to a guy in Chicago and somehow Billy got the cue.

Yes, Chady, I forgot to mention that....I sold it to Chady first....I ended up buying it back from a friend of Chady's, then I sold it to Bill. Well remembered!

Hey Scott,

I see you have some Hercek beauties yourself....the G. Szamboti is my favorite cue for sure...I sold several of my "keepers" to get it...the first time I played with I had a run of eleven playing banks...I did put a predator shaft on it though...I know of few of you want to puke now:D I know...I'm one of those guys....:p....so this cue must have some magic left in it....
