I'm pretty new to "serious" pool. I just recently got a table for free. It's not the greatest table but it was free so I can't complain. It's a C L Bailey 7.5 ft and in excellent condition. Only problem is the felt. It's like all other "home" pool tables with real slow felt. Like I said I've recently starting playing more seriously and looking into getting new felt. At all the pool halls the felt is super fast. Money is an issue for me so could anyone reccomend good, fast, but inexpensive felt? I do realize the process of re felting will cost a few hundred bucks alone. Is it worth just saving up and buying Simonis? Or what other felts are out there that are decent with similiar speed that are less expensive? If I do go with Simonis, which one of theirs would you reccomend? And finally, is it even worth putting the money into this table re felting it? Or should I just save up, get a decent table in a few years and do it then?
Sorry for the long post, thanks for any help though. Just joined the site and am impressed so far. Thank you
