can someone please suggest the best kind of table felt for a 3 1/2 x 7 pool table. thanks:)

I'd say for a 7' probably slow cloth. Championship DNR felt I think is the best overall of the non-worsted (NOn-Simonis) felt.

Is it a bar table? As in a coin operated table? Which would be a 1peice slate table. Or is it furniture style with leather drop pockets?

I did an upgrade when I bought my table (8-footer) and went with the Brunswick Centennial cloth. It's fast. Too fast for my liking. But if someone ever spills a drink on it, it'll come right up with paper towels, no wet spot or stain.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with the Simonis 860 cloth. It's fast too, but I bet it's not as fast as the cloth I got.
I'd take smittie's advice and look for a slow cloth. Fast cloth and 7' tables just don't go together IMO.

Its all personal preference,

Most places when they re-cloth a table and most guys I know use either Championship or 860.

I guess its because thats what most places have on thier tables.

I have heard that Brunswick Centennial is nothing more than Championship Tour Edition with Silicon sprayed on it for the water repellent.

Now if you do get a 7' table and put Simonis on it then one thing you'll learn is great position play and stroke control. Hit to hard and your stuck behind a ball. Hit to soft and your stuck behind a ball. Being on a tight table playing 8ball.

so you you're saying that i should go for a slower cloth on a smaller table? are there any slow felts out there that are nap free? thanks guys

I had the new Valley cloth on my bar box table and loved it!! it is also stain resistant.. check with a local bar and find out who the owner of the tables uses

I like

the Championship Mercury Ultra cloth. To me, it plays just right. It is not as fast as 860, and it lasts pretty good too. Of course, I have never liked the super fast cloths or Simonis for that matter, it makes playing shape too easy, IMO.

Bar table cloth

I really like the Valley Teflon Ultra for the bar tables. It is about the best price and plays really well. We were using it at Hard Times because that is what you would play on if you go to the BCA tournament in Vegas. It holds up well and has really good speed. I just recoverd the bar tables in 860 Simonisand they play really good. The league players are not use to the slide of new Simonis. I use the Valley cloth most of the time when I recover bar tables and they do not ask for something special.

It is called cloth. The pool world hasn't used "felt" in years. Sorry. This and setting your chalk upside down on the rail after chalking are two of my biggest all time pet peeves.
