I've been in bed for 2 days with the gout in my foot. One of the bungy cords broke at sometime in last day or so. Table had 1" of water on it. Took me 3 hours to dry it out. Going out now and play. You can't kill a Valley. Johnnyt

a bit more info please

i am trying to picture this in my mind and i'm think if i had any water on my pool table it might run down into the pockets instead of getting 1 inch deep ????

Pockets are rubber. Balls are coming from the subway dry. Two electric heaters and two 22" fans and a little time and it's as good as new. not my first rodeo with flooded Valleys. There only good for about 5 years out in the weather. I think of it as a throw away when I but one. Johnnyt

gout

What are you taking for your gout? For those who do not know, Gout is awful. It is the most intense pain I have ever experienced. It can be literally crippling. I have it now controlled. Johnny, look into it.

Hey Johnny, I can relate.

I, too, have a Valley I keep outside, in a covered car port. That does not mean it is not exposed to significant rain at times, especially when it is gusty.

I have a ping pong / air hockey insert. Over that, I keep a heavy vinyl cover, and over that I put an older vinyl cover that has shrunk and is somewhat tight. In other words, bungee cords are hardly necessary. With the ping pong insert, water does not even pool on the cover.

This table was one month old when Katrina put 8" of water in my carport. Fiberglass legs don't care.

Valley tables are TANKS.

Good luck with your table and your gout.

Maybe you should've left the water on the table.
You might sink more balls on the break.
:)

Allopurinol. I had a fish BBQ a few days ago and I'm not suppose to eat fish. I ate a bunch of it. It was good, but I paid dearly for it. Johnnyt

Try colcrys (colchicine) for your gout

Allopurinol helps to control your uric acid level, ask your doctor about colcrys (colchicine) to help with the pain.

I am waiting for 10 threads to pop up about which aiming system works best for hydroplaning cue balls..LOL

That's what the DR. put me on first. It didn't work for me. Most of it's my fault. I know most of the food that sets me off, but when I don't have a flame up for months, I tend to forget about how bad the pain can get and how long it can last. Johnnyt

I admire the way you take it all in stride Johnny T.! If anything ever happened to my table I would be devastated. Last year when our tornado sirens were going off I told my wife if we have to go in the basement not to lie under the table, we have to lie on top of it to protect it.:D

After I had strokes and heart attacks I made up my mind not to get stressed over anything. You can always buy or make money for new crap...if you're alive. Johnnyt

Colcrys

Hey Johnny,

Ask your Dr. about .6 mg of colcrys. I take that and the Allopurinal and no more problems. I can eat shellfish etc. My gout was crippling and it is gone, at least for now.

All the best,
Phil
