Table Light Recommendations

Ok, so, now that I have my new Diamond Professional I've come to the conclusion that the light above it pretty much isn't going to get the job done. There are a couple of pics attached. As I've said before, it's a cheap 5-bulb light from Lowes.

I don't want to spend a ton of $$$ on a light so I thought I would ask for some suggestions. It seems like I've asked about this before and I searched the Main Forum but I couldn't find the thread.

Anyway, anybody have any recommendations? Again, I don't want to spend $1,000 or more on this light.

There are a lot of options, all would be better than your existing light. Get something that has an adjustable color range, and is dimmable. Make sure it works off of a remote. All good.

Bulbs 36'' off the play surface (standard from the past). This set up cost me $100 new, plus I'm able to choose from many different light bulbs on the market, with VERY little amperage.
No matter what you choose..... it'll work.
As long as the seated players have NO light glaring in their faces while seated at a stool is what you what.

2x4 LED panels are commodity pricing on Amazon and even Big Box stores. About $50 each. You can get two of them and put them end to end. You can even flush mount them to the ceiling. Amazon sells a metal frame for about $30 that screws to the ceiling and the lights slide in from the end. They don't need to hang low, flush to a 9' ceiling is great and looks a lot better IMO.

Here is how I had mine for 6 or 7 years. Total cost to duplicate this today would be about $160.

Ideally, you want a light that will deliver around 20,000 Lumens at 5000K with a Color Rendering Index of at least 90.

I bought a perimeter light from user songj2096 on here about 5 years ago. Really reasonably priced, lights up my 9footer perfectly, and hasn’t given me any problems. He even sent me out another set of mounting hardware for free when I moved my table into my girlfriend’s house.

What do you have on your GC4? Do you have the GC4 light?

IMO, The best off-the-shelf light today specifically for pool is the Littman light. If you are not a DIY'r, you may want to look at it. They also make the light for Diamond as of about 5 years ago. They use qty 3 2x2 LED panels with about 6" between each panel. The panels each sit on an egg-shell grate which is a world of difference for your eye comfort when at the table or walking around the room.

Its about equivalent to what JABSolstice posted above that he DIY for $250.

It would be the 7x2 light in this link:

You can see the light I have above the GCIV here. It certainly gets the job done.

And the Littman light is way too expensive. Don't want to spend that much $$$.

No option on the planet is cheaper than drop ceiling LED lights these days. They come in 2x2 feet and 2x4 feet. And they are also the best for pool tables, to boot. IDK why you keep going after lamp shade style lights that went away from pool halls in 1980, and were replaced by florescent light tubes, and now LED panels.

Yep did mine for $130. Really easy and I'm no carpenter or electrician.
