Table Lights question

Hey guys,

I need to make some pool table lights for a league I'm organizing.

I've never really paid much attention to the lights so would appreciate any advice so I don't stuff things up. Here are some details and questions.

We will use fluorescent lights under a transluscent cover which shows sponsor's design. They will be in bars so already quite dark.

How many fluoro tubes should we use (2 enough)? Any standard lengths? Can anyone suggest a transluscent plastic material that is ok? (They only need to last 6 months).

What should be the wattage of the tubes?

Any ideas much appreciated.

Cheers,
Colin

Here's a pic of the design concept for your interest.

the link to cuezine does not work for me, can you help?

Kevin,
The website hasn't had a new edition for a while and I guess the host has just shut it down.

It was a Chinese and English tutorial and article website mainly targeted at a Chinese audience. The hassles of translating all the articles became difficult. I forgot to remove the link from my sig.

Maybe a bigger and better website in the future, but for now I'm too busy running sports events.

If you already have the shells, a 4 foot 2 tube fixture ( bare bulb ) is an off the shelf item for me. 34$ all day long.

If you have questions about availability for other sizes and configurations, feel free to call @ 410-575-6865 M-F 7 am- 4pm EST

The shipping to China would be a killer ...

I have 2 x 4' florescent fixture above my 8' table, it's fine. A 9' table would be better served by 8' tubes. They have 4 x 8' fixtures for the 9 footers at my favorite hall, and they are excellent (brighter than my table for sure).

I have back to back 2X4' fixtures on my nine footer and they give plenty of light. It might actually prove to be too much light for some to the other bar patrons.
