Table Off Everyway

I play AP league at a hall that has about 22 tables. We play on different table every week. A few of the tables are not level but the table we played on last Tue. was off at many different points. If you slow rolled the ball you could see it roll off the line - sometime at the corner pockets and sometimes at the side pockets and in the middle of the table.

What would cause a table to be off at so many different areas?????

Most likely the slate is bowing or crowned a little in the center. That, plus a feeble leveling attemp can make a table play very strange. I'll let the pro techs tell you exactly what, and more importantly, why that happens.
Would be nice to know what kind of tables they are.

Dawgie - are these one piece slate bar boxes or do they have 3 pc's of slate? I've always understood one piece slate tables have a 10 thousanths crown (I'm certain someone can correct me if I'm wrong) intentionally honed into the center to compensate for gravity. However, what you are describing sounds like a 3 piece slate table that didn't get each piece leveled properly. Each piece of slate should be individually leveled and matched at the seams starting at one corner, proceeding around the table. Makes them tough to play on doesn't it?

Fill us in on any details if you can. That way SOMEONE here can give an educated assessment (at a distance).

you should bring the aramith cue ball to your league games, it has the aramith logo in green. Its a $20 cue ball but worth it. alot of bar cue ball aren't round. Also consider that bar table slates tend to get low centers over the years, people move these things around, and some mechanics use cheap levels. I usually don't shoot too soft on a bar table for these reasons unless I know the table.
