I was reading another post on the Main forum and someone mentioned "High" table rates.

I'm from Central California and rates in our area range from $5.00 to $6.50/hr (less senior discounts 1/3). A while back, I made a trip to Monterey, CA and visited a VERY NICE room. My wife and I played for about two hours, each had 2 beers and sandwich. When I went to check out my tab was $56.00. It was a good thing that I had my credit card with me, because I was in "Culture Shock".

What kind of table rates do you have in your playing area(s)?

It's all over the place. I've played in Charlotte NC for $2/hour and also for $12/hour 5 miles away from the first place. In NYC I think I was paying $15 or $16/hour at night...

Beers, anywhere from $2.50/bottle (same place with $2/hour table time) to $8 for a bottle of Sam Adams in NYC to $9 pitchers of domestics at the hall I play at here in Minneapolis...

Pool at our Community Association Room is FREE, with our Annual Asscoiation Dues. To bring in a GUEST is about $3.00/DAY. Down side is you are responsible for your GUESTS ACTIONS!

.25 a game at the Eagles Club where I'm a member.

Around $8-$10/hour at the "pool room" in town.

$3.00/hr/person from 8:00AM to 1:00 AM.
Gold Crowns with 4.00" pockets and Simonis cloth.
$75.00 per month member rate from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Life is good.

The bar boxes around my area are all $1.50/game. We only have one room in town and the rates are about $7 or $8 an hour I think unless you want to play on the diamond 9 footer, that will cost you $10/hour.

I spend most of my time on my home table, time and beer are free.

The room myself and most of my friends play at is $7 play all day. 9ft Gandy's, most in pretty decent shape. Tournaments on Wednesdays $15 buy in. Can't beat it.

before 7:00pm $3.50/hr nonmembers
$3.15/hr members

after 7:00pm $4.25/hr nonmembers
$3.82/hr members

membership is $15 per year

All day rate (before 7:00 pm) : $8.00 nonmembers
$7.20 members

$5 all day

$5 dollars all day at Ashland Billiards in Ashland, Pa. Well kept Gold Crowns, including one formerly owned by Joe Balsis. It's a little bit of a drive for me (about 45 miles), but for that rate, you can't go wrong. The daily rate more than makes up for the gas to drive there, considering the local hall in Wilkes-Barre is $6 an hour. I try to get down there as much as I can.

Fortunately at my school's student center it's $1/hr. The most I've ever payed was $3. They're not the best tables, but they're pretty damn good for $1/hr.

Legends Billiards Leauge City, Texas
day rate $3.00 per hour 9 footers per person (max charge 2 people)
$2.00 per hour 8 footers
Night rate $5.00 per hour per person (max charge 2 people)
All Brunswick and Diamond tables in good shape.

This is a fairly nice hall, with the best rates around. You can go to other halls, but the price will increase to $9.00 per person per hour minimum, and the equipment is not as good.

Closest room:

$6.00 / hr between 3 pm and 6 pm Monday through Friday. I think.

$12.00 / hr 6 pm to closing Monday through Friday.

$1.00 / hr Saturday 12 pm - 7 pm $12.00 / hr 6 pm to closing

$1.00 / hr Sunday 12 pm to closing

Above are regular rates no limit on the number of players.

$3.75 / hr prepaid card anytime. Obviously not used during $1.00 / hr periods.

Other rooms that I've been to:

$6.00 to $8.00 / hr one player.

$12.00 to $14.00 / hr for two players. Add a buck or two per extra player.

$75 to $175 a month (depending on the room) per player unlimited playing time.

I know the table room you are talking about...
But you went to Monterey, you pay higher because the cost of doing business in Monterey is much higher there.
I know that because I go to Monterey all the time and use to work at the US Navy base (DLI) for almost a year.

My local pool room is the former Clicks on Skillman, now CK billiards. It's $5.00 flat rate till 7pm monday-thursday, till 9pm Fri-Sat, and all day on Sunday. When the flat rate ends, it $5.00 /hr. for 1 player, or $8/hr with 2 or more. 50 cent coffees, and I don't know about the booze.

Ten and change per hour and the manager told me that the prices are going up in the new year to over 12 because they are the only game in town.

I told him that gouging people just because you can is a bad strategy and that eventually it will come back and bite you in the ass. He didn't seem to get it but I do think they will in time.

Bar boxes are $1.50 and there are many nice neighborhood bars around that a person can go have an evening out and feel comfortable.

Instead of playing for a third hour, I will shut it down at 2 hours. Maybe buy a beer or two less and not purchase any food.

They do have one nice deal going. For every 10 spent, they punch a card and when you get 20 punches, you can redeem the card for a few hours of pool. The time is limited but they usually let you play as long as you want on a card. I also heard that they plan on reducing the number of free time per card as well and I doubt that will go over well either.

Wow , very reasonable rates from a first class pool room from what i saw on your website . Someone in another thread was complaining that they couldn't get decent food at their poolroom , i would argue that poolrooms aren't restaurants and to eat before you lleave home , but i see you have that covered too .

Would love to see your place sometime , i doubt i will , but good luck with your investment .

It would be nice to know at least the name of the town you're all talking about.

Spokane.....9 footers....$6-$10/hr. Barboxes are 50 cents a game, almost everywhere.

Some places will give you free pool weekday afternoons if you buy lunch. I'm all about that.
