Table restoration

I have a old BBC 10 ft Conqueror snooker table, 1 1/2 inch slate and it needs some restoration. Just about a month ago I had it moved out of my grandparents basement and into to my garage. I had it refelted, but it still needs some tlc. The wooden slats on the side (cover the bolts which hold the rails on) bolt up into the side rail, and they won't stay fastened, and the legs have some chipping on them.

Is there anyone associated with the forums or anyone who you guys can recommend in the Kansas area that would be qualified to do a real restoration on what I understand to be a rare piece of billiards history?

would be best to post this in the Ask A Mechanic Forum or possibly The Main Forum.

While you may get some response here, this area is setup for buying and selling.

He's wanting to buy a restoration. That's business. I don't see the problem posting it here. Definitely more related than many other posts I see here occasionally.

I was thinking that the guys who do the restorations would be more easily found or tracked down via the ask a mechanic forum though, as I said, he may get some response here.

And I def agree, it's much more related than a lot of posts here.

Is there a way to move it? Or should I create another thread there?

if it were me I would repost this in the "Ask A Mechanic" forum and I would also post a thread in the main forum simply asking if there are any recommendations for a capable table mechanic who works on antique BBC tables.

A thread title something along the lines of: "Capable Table Mechanic Recommendation Needed For Antique BBC Restore In KS"

Give them as much info in the title as you can.

GL with your restoration.

Yea, disassembly and reassembly with the new felt only took probably 3 hours the real pain was moving those enormous slates up the narrow staircase out of the basement into the kitchen. I will get some pictures of it tomorrow, I seem to have lost the ones I took when we were moving it since I had to reset my phone a few weeks ago.

Thanks everyone for all the tips.
